Klingon Balance & the Veqlarqh

You feel like a battlecruiser is too weak or a race too strong? Go ahead and discuss it here :)

But like it or not, that phaze of the game goes away very quickly in MP matches so you building 16 ships that are specifically built to fight destroyers and are moderatly expensive is not a great idea....

I think we'll agree to disagree on this, although you made some compelling arguments.

As to the speed upgrades - They're great late game, but are expensive when trying to get negh'var and vor'cha production going steady.

I rarely have the minerals available to afford them in time.

As for the kvort - the torpedoes from the female avatar do actually hit quite hard, (not the special torpedo either - I'm talking about the added launcher). Problem is slow refire. You get one alpha and then you start losing kvorts.

In fact that pretty much sums up the klingons as a whole. A huge lack of staying power. (even the vorcha dies really quickly).

That lack of staying power is precisely why you buy those speed upgrades.  They are even more important than upgrading shields.

Those speed upgrades are what let you escape before your ships are blown to shit, or let you chase down that last warbird before it gets to reinforcements or repaired.  And since the speed boost is cheaper than weapon or shield research, and the Klingons have good guns anyway?  I upgrade speed before guns.

I think the Klingons have too many un-used ships. Alslo flexibility and complex designs are not klingon at all. (My two cents, I don't play Klingons enough :sweatdrop:)

THIS!

Most of the time, with either avatar I hardly ever feel the need to build anything but b'rels, kvorts, vorchas, and neghvars.

The other ships are nice, but trying to build them ends up disrupting your delicate balance trying to spam the other ships.

If anything, the klingons should be more like the feds (a relatively simple tech tree), with less need for research stations. I always found it odd that the klingons have the most science stations in the game.

Well, it shouldn't be odd. The Klings are the least advanced race in everything but weaponry. All of thier military funds go into weapons, and not armor, systems, or anything else. That's why all of the upgrades are designed to support that, and why they have the most stations. Thier economy sucks!!! They have expensive, slow building stations that are nessecary for nothing but getting bigger guns!! ( :naughty: )

I find that I spam Lus'pets, as they do tremendous damage.
