Incube center costs

You feel like a battlecruiser is too weak or a race too strong? Go ahead and discuss it here :)

why does the incube cost 675 instead of the old 450 resources?
why does the incube give higher rate of supply bonus than before?
why doesn't the incube just have another (2nd) upgrade to increase supply rate or build-time for incube center upgrading?

It was changed to be more in line with what is planned for the redo :)

To compensate for the increased bonus.

To make the game more playable. With the slower rate of supply coming in, it made the Borg slower / more difficult to play.

As Doninus has mentioned, the Borg have a big redo coming up soon, so to make any changes to the current system would be a waste of time. Balancing and changing a couple of numbers is fine, but adding in upgrades and refits would be wasted effort.

Hm.. perhaps a few more words are necessary - the Incubation Center will play a larger role in the Borg redo and thus the (slight) changes (which do not really result in changed supply income) are a shift in that general direction. The redo will introduce more aspects for the Center to underline its prominent position :)

The biggest effect of this change is that the Borg need fewer incubation chambers, meaning they need less space.  As maps get smaller, the borg were sometimes running out of space to build all their inc chambers, not to mention they're easier to kill the farther the network extends from your main base.  Overall it's a good thing for borg.

The Borg definitely need to utilize as much of the map as possible because their stations take up a lot of space.  The supply generation rate helps a little with this, but the bases are still very large compared to other factions.  A size reduction of the footprints would greatly help the Borg. but I believe that the developers are working on some sort of uni-complex that will aid the Borg in their quest to reduce structure size.

By the way, changing the cost of the facility to something like 675 Dilithium and 338 Tritanium would be more in line to what other stations cost.

Where does the part about a planned Uni-Complex come from? I don't remember that bering planned for the Borg... it's not in the guides listed plans, at least.

I must have been mistaken.

Must have been thinking of the Iconians, they're planned to have a single large station in place of a conventional base.
