You feel like a battlecruiser is too weak or a race too strong? Go ahead and discuss it here :)

i've been trying to figure out the dom for some time now. so far i have nice BO againt any race except the borg. i tried everything i can think of but to no avail.
game on a 4p map, normal resources.
if i try to fast expand the borg just rush me with 3 scout cubes and eat up my bugs with ease. even if i get my turret up in time i get like 2-3 min of peace before assimilators kick in. fast bombers are no good as mass scout cubes is an easy counter to this. everything up the tech tree is too slow to counter the assimilator rush.
if i stay in my base and try to mass anything the borg just take the map and it's gg in no time.
the only way to survive the beginning is if i have expansion just outside of my base but on some maps first exp is far from my base (the circle for eg.)
the basic problem is that i have no control over any part of the map. with the roms or the klings i can just cloak a few of my ship and harass the borg but with the dom it's not possible to retreat.
maybe someone came up with a good early-game tactic with the dom and could share?

Well, it may sound pretty lame, but i usually use bugships at the beginning and ram the borg ships as soon as my bugs lose shields... That way i can inflict some damage to nearly no cost (the bugs would have been lost anyway) and the targeted borg vessel is moved out of the way (by the engine disabling effect of ramming) so that i can concentrate fire on the remaining ships.
Well, this "tactic" combined with a few bombers is basicly all I do in the early game phase...

good is the word, not lame
i was doing the exact same thing but it only works when scoutcubes stand still. with a good micro u can move scoutcubes back and forth so bugs will not reach them before they die and when u hit collision button the bug stops firing.

I'm no great Dom player, so this is 'grain of salt' advice. The only way I've had good success against the Borg is to violate normal build proceedures, and take one of my first construction ships to a secondary resource area...and blow lots of resources building a second starbase. Dom Turrets don't do much to the borg in my experience, but the starbase works well unless it's a tac-cube.
Then I have to resource-mine hard, because of that early cripple. Seriously screws with the ability to mount any kind of early offensive, but can hold off assimilators and is usually complete before the first scout cubes arrive to secure the resource site.
I developed that tactic because I just -suck- at rapid massing. Part of the reason I normally play as the Borg, where methodical and patient play pay off far more than trying some form of spamming.

the assimilator spam is "methodical and patient", right
a good idea with starbase. i'm only afraid that it wont reach assimilators as both the starbase and the assimilator have long range

Nah, but I play as 'Optimize', not 'Assimilate'.

dom and borg have resource gathering probs... so it is a pretty fair match
i would put my money on the cubes though

I find when playing Borg against Dom, that the greatest thing ever is researching Unicomplex. Holding beams on my buildings lets me ram them with their own bugships, and then turn those beams on ships worth keeping to up my defenses while I build up to cubes.

And what to do against cubes, when things go haywire?
Ramming them, taking their engines out, and thus taking them down one by one?:D

breen battleships arent that easy to spam. they take up quite a bit of supplies and take a decent amount of time to build.

siege cruisers are useful against larger ships like cubes.
If several combine their pink disruptor weapons, they can do a lot of damage.
...if they survive long enough, that is.

hi guys,
bbs aka breen battleships the best what dom have to kick borg and dont forgot the special ability it fear by borg
if u use bugs dont go to close to enemy ships (stay out of enemy firerange) cuz bugs fired at med range and fired backward so hit and run but dont forgot bug only take a few shoots
maybe bc aka breen cruisers very good against borg till the borg have not to many assim-ships, bc kills scoutcube quite good cuz of firerange and good movement speed but it dont fire backwards
hope this helps u a little
