Dilithium & Tritanium costs in general

You feel like a battlecruiser is too weak or a race too strong? Go ahead and discuss it here :)

Ok, I must say after being able to find some guys to play with online that the balance between the two resources is pretty bad.

I dont blame anyone here but many special weapons are simply useless in multiplayer. This results only in researching what i really need, and ends up in having 5000+ tritanium but just barely enough dilithium to build ships and stations (having 2 sets of dil and trit moons, 2 freighters at each moon).
I'm ok with that concerning the ships but not with the stations. For example a big yard (roms) costs 1440 dilithium but far less tritanium. But i need dilithium to expand and build up a fleet. So i have to stop my production if i want to build big ships. And ye additionally i have to pay for supply... ughhh.

The weapon/shields upgrades are far too weak if you consider their costs. Wasting all your dilithium to enhance your weapons by poor 6% of additional damage is pretty pointless. The upgrades should at least boost the systems by 10%. And still then the weapons upgrade should cost more trit. than dil. because you can better invest your dilithium into a fleet of ships which will be far more effective than 6 laughable percent.

Please think about it.

I have the opposite problem.  I think Tritanium is a tad too rare while Dilithium is a bit to avaliable.  I can't think of a game yet (offline) where I have not been able to build something due to insufficent dilithium but often I have to wait on the Tritanium.

Could you point that out plz (playstyle, race, etc.)?

i think its just fine and research is defo the way to go...

on a 4 player game last night with oen player as borg, one klingon and one fed wit me being dominion i managed to beat the borg guy before being attacked on the sly and i beat the borg guy loosing barely any of my fleet.

in that time i had two advanced shipyards building, two small ones and had done all research including the sheild and fire power and life support enhancements... and that was all just with two moon sets...

We are quite happy with the current resource system and i don't think that many special abilities are useless in multiplayer  B)

I'm working on a better way to exchange resources for a future version, like trading with NP Faction for example. Thats something for a future version

it would be nice if every race had a resource converter like the borg have the recyling centre under the less aggresive avatars because i want point with the dom i had over 5000 tri and only 600  dill... ok thanks to do some expensive research it quickly fell but im just saying the conversion aspect would be nice...

yep every race will get a method to convert resources, but we want them to be as unique as possible. The Federation for example is known to have many trading contracts, while the Romulan Empire is build on a cetralized economy manifest. That should be reflected in gameplay to (the stellar factions are more then just a military! you might already have spotted some "civil features" on the todo list :) )

There are some, guess I'll have to point that out in another post.

And still in request a boost of the shield & weapon upgrades as the price is just too high and the effect once researched far too low. Or just reduce those prices.

i dont know, 400 and 600 is that much for the initial upgrade sicne it improves every ship you have... its all about resource management, play me in a game so i can see how will you manage your resources ;)

The construction costs are ok, but the cargo hold of non borg miners needs to be increased. You have to spend so many resources just to build mining ships and they have a capacity of 100 units. They should have more from the start without research through mixed tech.
