Decommision collective uplink

So far, for the next mod... this is the summary for the changes discussed that needs to be made in borg
1) better cloak detect
e.g. ping on em cube, or faster dod ping turret build time

2) Redone refresh cycle which increase repair rate but significantly lowers defences, sight, attack, & movement when in cycle


I would like to add 1 more request.
the ability to decomission collective uplink once it is built.
That way, when we built a sphere or cube uplink...
and enemy tries to destroy it,
we can still recover resources by canceling the build.
This will make the game more balanced for borg.  :borg:

I've clicked the wrong button before and gotten a chassis I don't use. It can ruin a game if you pick a resource hungry chassis.

I know what  you mean. Sometimes after a press a chastis such as a sphere.... it usually is those times when the enemy starts attacking something near my base... (e.g. cheap warpin ships, cloaked vessles waiting for chastis to go up). Other races can cancel their production in shipyard and can save resources. It will be much more balanced if the assimilator, sphere, cube, etc. chastiss can be cancelled back into collective uplink so  not too much resources will be waste in such a battle.

+1  i like this idea      maybe have it only give back half res and connections tho  so its not overpowered  (like setting up 3 uplinks and wen the cube is under attack canncel and insta rebuild somewhere else it would get abit lame tbh)  afterall the uplink is basicly a shipyard  so decomming other race shipyards gives back only like half the res used to build it

Decom gives about 30-36% back.

As for decom the Uplink, I'm neutral about it as you get resources back for cancelling construction. The Uplink is comparable to the resources others don't get back. Such mistakes do annoy me, though.

I like this but it should definitely only be a percentage of the cost and ccs because killing up links especially of the bigger ships is a great strat

Maybe Borg decom could be more efficient. AFAIK they wouldn't be able to exploit it for techups like the other races could if decom gave more than 30%.

Borg decom usually has an easier time for exploiting techups in 1v1 just because of the nature of RIF and their cost structure  :blush:

Obviously we cant speak for the next version but as it stands borg decom would be too strong, as hitting a borg ship such as a cube before it builds is possible but requires both recon (or luck) to know were to hit and being willing to risk the ships to do so. It also requires that the borg defend the expensive vessel, or make sure it's not spotted.

Just a thought  for the "Optimized" Borg only to use the Recycling center to  to decomission a unwanted Borg ship . It would take  three times the  construction time of the ship to deconstruct and  would only get 49% of the Dia/Tri and Supply ?connective collections costs  back. along with getting a  "bare" uplink . As a penatly  any ship built with this  uplink will have  up to  a triple  build time .Doing so  the recycle  function  could not be "abused".
