You feel like a battlecruiser is too weak or a race too strong? Go ahead and discuss it here :)

When I'm fighting the Dom, ignoring ally bonus's I tend to go down two routes:
*Defiant Spam (ala kill their wep's)
*Akira/Excellsior 2 fireteams. The E2's kill the bigger ships with their ACS's, and the Akira's weather out the smaller ships.
Just about the one thing I've realised is that it isn't worth trying to use Sovvies against the big Dom ships... If you're wanting to use bigger ships your best bet is to use a couple of Descent classes' to harrass their base. Problem with that is when the OMGATTACK comes, you're probably find yourself woefully underprepared.
On the other hand, you can save yourself a shit load of stress if you rush them early in the game, but then again, it isn't quite as fun...

The AI doesn't use Resources, I remember a while back me and Redmanmark played with the AI files and found that out, It's quite funny actually. It's why I tend to avoid attacking AI Mining bases as they don't actually pose any Strategic value.
The problem is the Ai is the way it is now because essentially that's the only thing you can do with the Ai as sad as it seems, I remember we tried getting the AI to break up into fleets and Patrol + defend as well as raid but it never seemed to quite happen.
I think the Hard Ai at the moment is a little too hard by default but only cause of the numbers that it seems to be able to construct.
Maybe a slight tweaking of it's Max numbers might help ?

I quite like the difficulty of AI hard (numbers wise)... but not the lack of tactics

I like the difficulty as well. Playing hard with Dominion on hard.
I can beat them easy as pie now with the 3.03 patch.
Balance is restored.

i was trying to say some time b4 (not v politely) that the hard Ai is not like the driving license, not every human on the planet should be able to have(beat) it.

I personally rush up my techtree, build an under equipped defense force, Warp In a couple fleets, and begin expanding. Then I build a HUGE fleet yard, build a couple hundred ships in a few minutes (which not even the AI Hard can compete with
), send in the literally endless parade of ships to kill the enemy (I continue building even after the main attack force is built, and send those in as well,), and win! I typically use this strategy against the AI Hard Doms, as they are almost as spammy as the Feds.
Almost.
So I don't see what the guy that started this thread's problem was.
P.S I will edit and upload a pic of the time that I did this.

actually its very easy to beat a hard AI.
How?
u can direct the attacks of the AI if u "pull" the AI with a few sabers.
Attack a few secs the enemy base with sabers and then get em far behind your defence forces.
The AI will go the next Attackwaves for the sabers and mostly ignore the rest. So your defence can blow the ships of the hard AI quite easily up and mostly they dont even fire back, they just try to reach an kill the sabers.
In the Time u do that u can easily build up a good attack force to break the hard AI
So yes, the AI is hard numberwise but lacks any tactics and is in this way not THAT hard.

Actually I am the one who started the post.
The original post idea was: that I could beat every other race on hard (with multiple opponents) using the federation....aside from the Dominion. This seemed odd.
Now with the 3.03 patch they are all like difficulty, so I would assume that there was some type of balance issue.
Further, it may have been a certain map I was playing that gave them some advantage.
Regardless, I posted to point out a discrepancy in the difficulty level. No "problem" involved friend.

you can choke them off early on by taking or at least guarding as many resource nodes as possible that slows them down alot. if they get there hands on 3 sets of moons then WHOOA watch out they will have tons of v-13 at your door in no time. if you cant hold on to the nodes then build a field of nine quantum torpedoes (dont even bother with this strategy if your using the chick) place all three of your fully upgraded repair drones there and make sure that the dominion knows about it so that they try and attack it. usually building a shipyard seems to get there attention. wait or lead them there and between any ships you have and all the torpedoe turrets with the repair ships keeping you up you can slaughter there fleets and lose a minimal number of ships. i do this with novas, akiras, remores, sovereigns and defiants. if you micro manage, which i never do, then you could probably do it with even fewer losses than me.
the first time i thought i was a goner but i wanted to see how long my guys lasted and surprisingly they won against about 20 (and im not exaggerating that number) v-13s and shitloads of those bombers. i only lost about 6 or so ships and they were mostly akiras.
i immediately took my remaining fleet started wiping out their main base while they were still rebuilding their fleet............and then my game crashed
and wont run for more than a minute or so after a reload.
