breen cruisers way too powerful

You feel like a battlecruiser is too weak or a race too strong? Go ahead and discuss it here :)

I mean seriously, those things can blow up a fully upgraded akira in like 4 or 5 shots :( and a defiant in about 8 shots. You guys should really look into this

Don't compare the Akira and the Breen Cruiser. You wouldn't compare a Borg cube and a Breen Cruiser. ;)

Yes, it is a strong ship. On the other hand it isn't easy / cheap to build.

Breen cruisers are fine. in fact they are the only bite to the rest of the Dom fleet.
Plus compared to the fed sovs they're pretty much the same.
so no bigggie.

Don't forget that Breen cruisers (you are talking about the little ship right?) can only fire in one direction. So no retreat.

yeah but one little cheap ship to take out a sovereign... that's preaty fucked up

if u actually look at the dom tech tree, the ship may be cheap in dilithium and trilithium, but what about the supply consumption.
Teh dominion have one of the highest supply requirements.
that compiled with the fact that the supply stations have to be built and to boot only one miner can mine from any moon at any one time, negates the cheapness in dilithium and trilithium.

If you wanna be evil, set aside one moon.  Think of it as your major cash-saver.  Build 4 supply processors around it.  I'm not kidding, 4 of them.  Then add 2 more supply miners.  Guard that puppy, and you should produce supply about twice as fast as you can possibly spend it.

i typically place 1 supply station at each of my moons.
has the same effect and allows mining to continue from all moons.
on maps with limited moons this idea is particularly impractical, and carries in it a tacit admission that supply miners for the dominion need to have the ability to mine simultaneously from a moon with the resource gatherers, without which the dominion building ability collapses :).

Plus, if we look at the resources that go into the creation of this setup, can once seriously that the dominion will be able to keep pace with the klings/feds' ship building in the same time?
Surely not, this extra consumption and allocation to the supply facet, coupled with the heavy resource pull that prototypes need AND the extended time they take to build puts the Dominion as a slow to build slow to start race.... the complete opposite of what is canon.
Also, if we then look ath most dominion stats, most dominion ships arent a match for the Feds or Roms or klings.
the borg may be slow but thye have ships that do compensate for that slowness.
The Dominion lack this strenght aspect, but are dragged down by this additional supply side aspect.

Since there have been many changes to the Feds/Klings/Roms and even Borg since V3 PR, and the Domnion  have stayed practically the same with the dreadnought itself only accessible from mixed tech, the Domnion really need more attention from the modders.

I totally agree with you serpicus.

The Feds, the Borg and the Romulans are fine for now, the klingons and the Dominion on the other hand need some loving  ^-^

and they will. we will have a talk about the Dominion in the dev team soon

Perhaps you could make a sticky and tell us exactly what the dev team is going for, for each race, that way we might offer more directed ideas? (dunno if this is a good idea though...)

that would be really nice or maybe just a update every once and a while about what is going to be included in the next patch.

Aye, we will prepare newsposts for larger features that come with the next patch. as 3.0.5 runs okay at the moment we will spend some time to make 3.0.6 a content patch with a new feature or two
