borg again ! stuck resource collectors
You feel like a battlecruiser is too weak or a race too strong? Go ahead and discuss it here :)

for borg, they seem to have troubles moving around the moons, and sometimes get stuck hugging them until they need to be moved somewhere else (losing resource gathering efficiency), not sure what that could be.
It would also be very cool to have a selection box for placing the resource node, as its random placement puts it into awkward positions, which again blocks access to moons sometimes and need to be rebuilt

There is a detailed explanation on how to place resource nodes for the Borg without EVER having sticking problems in the guide in the downloads section
Never had trouble with miners sticking on the moons... interesting

hm ok
Yes the node is a little tricky, but when they get stuck and stop processing is a bit of a nuisance
thanks anyway

i think the borg collectors should be s bit smaller, because now,
a)they often stop moving because the bump into something and are to dmb to float over or under it
b)in some small maps your miners automatically get stuck on your assim matrix, because its too near and they are so fat

Unfortunately this is because of bad pathing in FO... and all units do this at some point or other in my experience

I was thinking about this in a mod of mine... I'm planing on having small miners. This way the problem doesn't occur. Though I gotta say, the Resource Collectors look good... but they are too bulky especially since they have a different pathing than other miners where sometimes the rotate around the wide way. Could these be flipped to a vertical length?

Well, as I just said, this happens WITH ALL UNITS because of bad pathfinding. It only seems to happen more with Borg freighters, but if you pay attention to other freighters they get stuck, jostle for position etc.
Changing the size of the unit doesn't seem to help much (try the scale SOD I guess), it just needs to be redone. Many ships just get stuck on one another--heck I made a thread about this a month ago listing some of the issues particular units get.

I reposted here because I didnt want to start another borg thread, but I experienced the borg AI building resource nodes with its constructor unit the other night, not with its resource collectors, is this a bug or a hack to make the AI work properly?

The AI works differently then human controlled factions... there are plenty of odd things you might notice (since the AI is scheduled for a fix-up, these may be corrected as well): for instance, the collective uplinks will produce ships over and over again like a shipyard. This is something that was up until now uncorrectable... I'm not sure when it will be fixed though
