Galefury wrote:I disagree. 2 tavaras are enough. The tavaras are intended to be the flagships of the romulans, not their backbone. Norexan is strong (and fast) enough to be the backbone of the fleet.

Indeed.

hello guys,  :D

roms is my favorit race to play and i have many experiences (online) with it. The Tavaras is big and looks very nice but thats all. IMO no need to buy this ships to expansiv and too long built time. And u need a big yard that expansiv too. Check out the generix refits all 3 are very usefull. For example dont undervalue a good mixed fleet of dreads and supports.
And when roms go to battleships then no way past norexan class how galefury and ARES told. Best heavy ship u can get as rom. If u very skilled micro player there is a other option. :whistling:
And plz stop talking about something like this...

"2 tavaras is very low i agree ... specally since i noted how easy u can destroy 2 with a mixed battlegroup (8 excelsiorII, 2 remores, 2 defiants ripped 2 tavaras in less than 10 secs)"

Sure u only have two tavaras and the fed has 12 ships is already decided which fleet wins. The special weapons of the remore and defiants make sure that it goes very fast to end with the tavaras.
Battleships for example are not a ticket for win a match or a battle. There many facts whichs counts.

And now to the stations intell and cloaking center. Cario u right rom cant built both at the same time i checked it too. But IMO there is no need, cuz the cloaking center is crap at all. What can i do with it is complete sensless station, or anybody an idea?
And since patch the intell center  IMO is only half worth before. U can built it but there no really need cuz the best special capability has been removed. The others isn't really its ress worth.

@FO dev team IMO the roms are quite well at the moment cuz most of the ships are worth to built and u have different strats options. Borg for example most time can do only the same cuz of PP system.

The Intelligence Center can level up and you receive the good old Spy on officer rank. The Cloaking generator allows you to cloak all your stations (remaining their shields and weapons active) for a short time, quite useful for base defense. cloaking turrets.. :) can do teh trick. but the next patches will bring some new stuff for the romulans that synergizes with the cloaking generator, the intelligence center and other sneaky, romulan stuff
:cloak:

We are aware that the Borg are currently a bit to "single strategy" oriented, therefore we are currently taking a closer look at them too. there might be some changes for their gameplay in the future, but that has to be decided first, we are working on it, one race at a time

optec u fast like this first fed ships with special engines on

kk maybe the cloaking center and i will be friends but remember this game is called FO not SO ...S for stations. :innocent:

mhh so cloak turrets can fire like normal mode? okay its nice but only toyplaying. 1000dil for the cloaking center and more ress for turrets by the way too expanisv IMO.
A special cloaking generator for ships like in one TV serie used by roms would be nice. I mean the one which cloak and fly through anything, ships, stations, planet and so on. That would be nice but maybe it fragged the balance.
Or redesign the tavara class make its a ships which can refit. Maybe a relative weak version with long range and a stronge version with short range.

I played a game of Roms last night and found it completely different. I picked the admiral which only gets one Tavara....oops, lol. Once I realized this, I wasn't too happy, but I was perfectly fine throughout the whole game. As long as I had a mixed support fleet, I was good. I had a few norexans and about 2 D'Deridex's and then the rest were either the quadcobalt torpedo ships, or the particle refits of the Generix. My tavara long outlasted ALL of my other ships. The only other issue that i had was that my Generix's died a little too quickly, but that was ok because they're not really that expensive.

The Roms are my favourite race.
I think the cloaking generator is not much more than a funny toy. Its energy is consumed too fast to  be part of a great strategy.
I played a lot with a Borg player in my team against different other AI races. I noticed that I help to defend the Borg in the first time, but after a while I would have no chance against them except with the Tavara.
Even one tactical cube is stronger than 2 Tavaras. I think a fleet of D'derix or Norexan ships would be needed to destroy such a cube. The Klingons for example have at least their special weapon in the Negh'Var but the Romulans only have their Tavaras. So I think 2 are not enough.

Then I have a question: Do the Roms have a ship, which is able to decloak other ships (I think in the original Armada it was the Talon class)? If not think/discuss about re adding such a feature.

I'm curious to see the new features of the Roms (hopefully soon).
