You feel like a battlecruiser is too weak or a race too strong? Go ahead and discuss it here :)

Is it just me, or this ship still far to powerful?
One of it with just 5 smaller Romulan ships, reduced my 12 Sov fleet to dust in less than 30 seconds.

You're right, it could do with toning down a bit, for reasons of balance. Then again if you were ask the Romulans for their opinion, I'm sure they'd say it's just fine.
Am I confusing reality and fiction again?

if u think its too strong turn down the supply so they cant field too many or they cant field them at all.

or simplier solution, start mixing your own fleets *eyesrollin*

Hi!
Use defiants against tavaras. Set one defiant to red-special, make the others fire their critical shot manually and thats all. The tav will do simply nothing until it's down. Same procedure with cubes.
The tavara of 3.0 was nearly 50% stronger. The times where the tav was always the best choice for easy living are over IMO. Norexan is the most agressive option at the moment. A tavara which is turned down to a slightly stronger d'deridex seems most redundand to me. They may increase it's costs (not stars) and it's building time a little.

tavaras were easy to deal with pre-patch... even easier now since you wont get 5 of em at once coming at your face.
Possible solutions:
feds: defiants, science vessels (ECM really wreaks havoc w/a tavara)
Klingons: Engine-disabling artillery and lots of em.
Borg: 8-10 assimilators... all full on special energy... drain the crew right off the thing and take it yourself.
Dominion: I don't play dominion enough to know exactly the best counter, but I've never had a problem dealing with them as I can usually spam cruisers so fast that I can simply swarm a tavara.
Romulan: Your own tavara or a fleet of artillery.

we dont want to reduce the overall power of the Tavara, but to underline her unique character. the next patches should get us closer to that

well if you have some generix supports as escorts for the tavaras, there's not much you can do really. That's why I love playing as the rommies

Actually, it seems like the breen battleship is the way to go against any very expensive high firepower ship... with it's random subsystem damaging weapon.
In fact, if I may be so bold... I believe that the Borg are especially screwed when faced by this battleship, as if you have a fleet of cubes (10*) vs a fleet of breen battleships (16), the battleships will win, despite being much weaker and cheaper... in general the Borg seem to be in bad shape when faced by any weapons which disable subsystems rapidly and for a long time (as they have so few ships to field). However, I am just speaking from personal experience, so if anyone has a strat against this, I'd welcome advice.
* exagerated from 16

that's a little exaggerated. the number of cubes should be closer to 3 imo.

Actually you are correct: I tested it only with a fleet of 10 cubes vs 16 breen battleships... and then tested with 16 spheres vs 16 breen battleships. Either way, the breen won , which is just plain odd

Friend vs me: then again... spheres 'n cubes require more micro then breen battleship (and the game was a bit laggy) ... that's why I'm not exactly sure if it was or wasn't a fair fight, but I do know that the breen battleship could take out each sphere as they came in formation (as every 4th torpedo disables... a lot of systems were going down).
I was also destroyed in a battle a few days ago where my fleet consisted of 10 spheres, 4 assimilators, 2 cubes.... which were annihilated by 22 breen battleships (no other ships). I had the devastating attack, slicer beam, nanites, and enhanced fov, and lag.

hmm, i could see breen battlse ships possibly takeing out that many cubes and spheres and such, but 16 breen taking out 10 cubes? wow i have not have much use or expirience playing as dominion, but what i can say is that i know i had a fed fleet anihalated by breen battleships, i couldnt belive it, i thought i had a kick ass fleet, of sovys and others but compltely anihaleted, i musta had at least 100 ships, more i do belive (this was before 3.2, maybye before 3.1) and they had minimal losses,
back to the tavara tho, i do belive the tavars are to powerful, it dosent matter how many the enemy gets, the problem is they can get them so early (the yseem to build rather fast) that by the time they are out, you dont have a big enough fleet to counter them, i played a 3 person on a 3 player map, and i put up about 5 turrets in the small place they could come through, i put every single ship by that entrance, and then blasterd me to bits, came woth like 3 tavaras, and it was the tavars that really killed me, they didnt have that uch support to them, but those 3 or 4 tavars blasted away my 5 turrets, and asembled fleet of 2 descents, 3 akira, 5 intrpid, 3 saber, 2 sovys, a few definats, and a few excelsiors, and boom i was gone

first off let me say this is more appropraite for a warp in post, but secondly let me say luna would be awsome, but not as warpin, just a normal ship, on another note, yeah, the enterpirse f would be awsome as exprimental, but would have to be more credit cost, and would be one to rival a tavara, and could take out two, 3rdly experimental should include promethius
