will the patch solve my problem

I've been trying to add the weapon assimilation beam to a borg freighter, but It won't work. I need the freighter to mine dilithium, and have the ability to assimilate weapons.
Can I do this with the patch, and if so .....how?

Just give it Special Energy and the Assimilation Device as an additional weapon (weapon3). It would always have to be done manually.
