Things I would like to see in the next patch project release
Talk about anything related to old versions of Armada.

Your patch project has gone a long way in making armada better, and more of a pleasure to mod.
My brother and I created and released The Ferengi expansion pack several years ago. It was a good mod but there were several things we wanted to do, but could not due to the restraints of the hardcoding. I've since redone the expansion pack with all new textures, weapons and animated models, but their are still some things I think the ferengi should be able to do before I release it. Would it be possible to give a race the ability to trade with everyone, even enemies? I think that the ferengi would send trade ships to any race with a trade station, regaurdless of weither their at war. I would also like the ability to add some diversity to the scavegers. Instead of just a Ferengi battleship showing up to steal ships, the AI could pick randomly from a list of ferengi ships. Someone posted the idea of "cease fires" and treaties. I love this idea. That would make it possible to add minor races to a map, and they actually make a diffrence in the outcome of the game. The computer override and klingon commando team could be useful as weapons for other races (modified to fit the race) if you could determine in the odf which race would gain the target ship if the attack is successful.
Now I know that fleet ops dosn't use planets like stock A2, but colonizing is one of the reasons I like A2 over A1. One of the things that pisses me off the most is the generic-ness of the colonization textures. I think that each race should have specific textures of each of the diffrent planets.
The colonization texture for the planet Earth should not be the same as the colonization texture for the class m or class H. THERE SHOULDN'T BE CITIES IN THE MIDDLE OF AN OCEAN. Can't the race odf be altered to reference diffrent colonization textures for specific planets? Like with some weapons, the odf gives diffrent damages, for diffrent types of ships. That way we can make specific colony textures for each planet, for each race. Lastly...I figured out a way to add orbital weapon systems to planets without effecting orbital mining stations, but It requires that planets be able to build research pods.
I know I can change the planets to stations, but It sucks to lose the colonization ability.
Do you think you guys could find a work-around?

I have a few ideas about the planets that may be available with the patch project, though it's pretty much not possible yet.
If it were possible to somehow replace planetary shield with a replace weapon (doubtful I know) then after colonising a planet you could have the planet replaced with a station you could then upgrade the station with different things such as weapons platforms and orbital mining stations however the orbital mining station would be difficult if it was converted to a station though perhaps possible using a later version of the patch project that adds the odf commands that the Borg incubation centre uses to generate supplies it could possibly be made to generate metal.

what about a few ships making a Guest appearance, would be cool to see the RED DWARF ship in a game, its a mining vessal and im sure it wouldnt look outta place

Red Dwarf is a butt-ugly rust bucket, sounds like a Klingon ship. Before you say something, that wasn't meant as an insult.

Anyway I think they were having some problems getting it to be backwards compatible and something else about the launcher though I don't remember exactly.
I don't think it will be too long.
I'd like to see a list of which features will be included in this release though so we know what to expect.

still working on it. i was on vacation the last two weeks so i had to pause development a bit
