Possible remote build exploitation?

Hello Everyone,

I play fleetops 3.0.7 mainly via LAN with my friends. Beginning around 3.0.6 I'm the server and occasionally get a message in the top left corner of the screen that says Possible attempt at remote build exploitation or something like that. Anyone have any idea what this is? I'm behind a router and this is a LAN game not an internet game so im not sure if someone is attempting to access an exploit from outside?

Sounds to me like someone is Cheating and trying to open map editor and place ships on the map.  It would be a possible build exploitation.

lol. I thought that too but no one is cheating. Both are the exact same version of the game and both LAN PC's are running XP with the latest patches installed.

Some one probably entered in a line of code that could be used as a cheat. Like that there in A1 if you type in certain messages you actually activate a cheat. Here is an attached copy of the A1 cheat sheat that gets real annoying if someone used it.

actually as far as I can remember you can't use cheats in multiplayer. so it shouldn't be the cause.

Hmm. Like Zaxxon said, I don't think thats whats going on here. Seeing as these PC's are both mine, on my LAN set up by me and I can verify that no files have been modified.

I've noticed it usually happens when you by accident try to build a structure in the minimap (or close to it) or off the screen. Either way, the only time I've seen that come up is accidentally, not with malice

Oh yeah, that happened in A1 one time where when I did the build procedure and clicked on the mini map it would actually build there. So I had been building turrets between enemy starbases.

wow you can assign where to build via the mini-map? hmm. not sure if thats what was happening here but I guess anything is possible.

yes, there existed an exploit for building stations without even having a constructor near - a stock armada 2 hardcore online gamer once told me about. that should not be possible in fleet operations anymore. i put a message in the game to see if any problems in connection with the fix occur (like an out of sync). so i guess under some circumstances it can happen that you get a false alarm. never seen that myself though
