Modding Armada II (v 1.25) Resources

Okay... in the simplest sense, I am trying to redo the resource system a little. For instance, I am replacing the Latinum resource with particles you could mine from various nebulae. But I was hoping instead of grouping them all together I could have some particles have their own resource table.
I also am planning on replacing the Biomatter with Supplies just like in Fleet Ops. But I do plan on having a simpler system on acquiring supplies.
Here is the long version.
I am planning on having the Dilithium also being mine-able from some planets as in canon there were instances where planets such as Remus were known for having large dilithium mines. This means that I will need advice on how to reprogram orbital stations.
I was thinking of having at least 12 different varieties of particles that you can mine (and 3 that you can create). The mined particles for the most part come from either asteroids or nebulae. These particles would be used in the research part of the tech tree. Some particles would include Tachyon, Tetryon, Metreon, and other commonly referred particles. Particles that would be able to be created would include Graviton (Borg), Theleron (Romulan), and Omega Particles. These would be used for advanced weaponry and research.
For the Supplies I was thinking that you would have to build trade stations and you would sell metal or dilithium to get Supplies. Supplies would also come in on those randomly appearing Ferengi Transports that visit stations at random, but I was also thinking of adding additional versions that portray other minor races, some races would have access to trade resources others would not. And The different trade resources (Romulan Ale, Anti-Grav Units, tribbles) could also be sold off for supplies.
And I would also like some help on how to program the freighters and orbital platforms to mine faster or slower so that each race would have its own economical balance.
And one more thing.... where do I go to change so that the names come up accordingly for the odfs?
