maxhealth and maxshields

In FO ships and stations have these settings in their odf to set a separate value for the hull and the shields. In reading the guide you can use both of these in stock A2 as well. My questions is in stock A2 after the shields are depleted do they recharge or repair to the maxshields value or does it then default to the maxhealth value which is both for hull and shields combined?

I know this is a late reply, but I will attempt to explain my understanding of the .odf files and how the shields and hull are based. To start "Max Shield Strength & Beginning Shield Strength <500" is the maximum the shields can be and what they start at when the ship is built, "the Rate at which shields recharge" is how fast they will recharge within about a second. Now as I understand it, giving something under the "Hitpoint" section more hitpoints will give that system more hp, but it may not count as much if they would disable the life support system or if they would get hits on the hitpoints in the "ART PARAMETERS & WEAPON NAMES" section, and you probably would not want to add more hitpoints there, as if you did that is more places that the enemy could hit your ship and disable, for example, your weapon system faster.
I could be wrong with some of this information and if someone knows better than I do then feel free to add your input.
