Increasing Sizes

Talk about anything related to old versions of Armada.

Oh... Please I beg you please please please let me suggest some races that could be playable.

Playable Races:
- Xindi (Mainly I'm interested in the Aquatics and Insectoids, thoughif you can sucessfully create a full race of Xindi that would make one of my wish list things checked off).
- Breen (So far no people that have attempted a Breen full race really caputred the sense of the Breen, The Breen are known for completely unexpectable weapons that can turn a ship into a drifting tin can)
- Dominion (I like the dominion, though some designs that I thought really fit the Dominion style I never see fully accomplished, to see what I mean, try integrating those ships from Dominion Wars)
- Tholian Holdfast (I'd like to see a great use of imagination to see how well a Tholianrace can be recreated, starting with the ships from Shattered Universe, those really looked Tholian)
- Orions (I think that somewhere the Orion race would start coming around. What I look forward to about them the most is the Orion ships from Shattered Universe)

Non-Playable:
- Neo-Terran Empire (I'm sure by now with their expertise in trans-dimensional transporters that they would find out how to carry entire ships across the mirror)
- First Federation (How many people ever seen them in a game? The only time I saw any was in one mission in Shattered Universe)
- Bajoran (Eh, what the heck, I want them)

I'm going to try to keep the number of playable races balanced in each quadrant.  It will be based on the mid to late 24[sup]th[/sup] century.  I will probably have 6 or 7 races per quadrant and a few from outside the galaxy.  There will be some non-playable races in each quadrant and a couple from outside the galaxy.  But only from the 24[sup]th[/sup] century.  I will put some fictional races in as well and I am open to suggestions.  The game is (hopefully) going to be a massive multiplayer game with some offline playability.  You run the fleet similar to how it's done in armada with a few exceptions.  Which I'm not going to list right now.

By the way, you will be able to develop your own ship, station, and technology designs for your fleet and share those designs with other teams.  If you have enough technology and/or the smarts to do it, you can take technology from the Borg the way Voyager did.  And use it the way you want.

Remember, all of this is depending on Star-Trek giving me permission.  Otherwise, everything will be playable from only nations found on Earth.

I'm still working on the Armada 2 mod and I'm at least going to make all of the federation vessels to scale and the Borg probe will be to scale with the Federation ships, but nothing else will be to scale.  At least not for Armada 2.

I'm going to try to build my own Star-Trek game whether I can successfully modify this one or not.


I've been wanting to do the same, except I have no programming knowledge. I would like some help, I just dont know anything except voicing and modeling. (And idea's, but that's beside the point)

What you could do is pick a size for your Borg cube..say 1000x1000 and scale everything to that...obviously it would make ships like the Intrepid very small and runabouts almost impossible to see..but then you could increase how close the camera could zoom in...

perhaps you could have a circle around the small ships to show where they are, (imagine the discs that appear in fleet ops when a ships shields are down and flicker, visually something like that) so you can keep track of the ships when zoomed out.

it would need to be a toggleable visual cue like switching the grid system on and off..
