EFFECTIVE MAY 31, 2014, GAMESPY WILL CEASE PROVIDING ALL HOSTED SERVICES FOR ALL GAMES STILL USING GAMESPY.

The port forwarding required to play the game wasn't state of the art anymore anyway. Alternative like Tunngle or Hamachi via Armada's LAN play will still work fine.
Was the GameSpy online mode of Armada still being actively used by anyone?
