If anyone around here happens to have Armada 1 working, would you possibly be able to take a quick screenshot of the mini-map from 'Vendetta', the 3rd Federation Mission (fully revealed if possible)? I would like to try and remake the map in FO and while i managed to get one image its a bit low quality.

If by chance your able to read the map size too it would be a huge boost.

Thanks

Assuming you mean the one where Toral hounds you through the map, it's mission 5 I believe. It's 6400x6400.

Armada 1 comes with a map editor, just like the sequal.

that was a funky mission.

i found it odd that you could capture an empty starbase and get new crew lol. where did the crew come from?

The A1 campaign far surpasses the horrid A2 campaign. Yes A1 had it's flaws but as a game in general it was a lot more enjoyable than the rushed A2.

When one day I get around to doing a campaign for my mods, I will be basing the map and missions of the A1 campaigns.

agreed, just dont do those annoying gauntlet missions where the borg cube always went straight for spock with holding beam and added his distinctiveness to their own.

lol I think that happened to me the first time and maybe the second but after that I for sure never allowed it to happen since. I had the Akiras and Nebs in a second fleet with the Galaxy and just used transporters once the crew level got into the yellow.

problem is that crew served as a third type of health bar in a1. it was just as important as shields/subsystems. it was super annoying because no matter where you hid your galaxy with spock an auto assimilator with way too much energy for blue beam would strip it quickly. you keep it near your fleet and the ones that appear in front of you will get it. keep it behind and the ones that transwarp behind you will get it. and that cube was super annoying. and every single weapon hit from any ship would drop your crew and would drop them by stupid amounts when the crew level is high. it was like a dozen redshirts all congregated around a bridge console waiting for it to explode in their faces. i hated that game mechanic so much in a1, your ships would have half crew after 1 battle. which was annoying in missions where you could recrew, and even more so in missions like this one where you couldnt recrew ever.
