Dream Features

Talk about anything related to old versions of Armada.

ok here we can post our lists of dream features (even if not possible ever) just to see wot crazy things we'd like to see and see what things can actually be done via the patch project.

here is my dream list (warning its fairly long)
-race shields
-race mesh parts (like the borg assimulation bits)
-more energy bars (idealy one for phasers, one for pulse, one for torps and one for specials)
-more than one special of the same type viewable on the ship
-each build type (buildship,buildstation,evolve,research) to have its own build location so a ship can possess more than one of the abilities
-pdp to have accuracy
-shipyards to be able to replace ships once tech has made them obsolete (like the upgrade station)
-replaceweapon to have buildtime
-to set the special weapons so the ai will use it
-freighters get all resource bars so they can hold all resources at the same time
-construction ships can also be freighters with the bar

i know for some of them to even to have a chance of being possible the pach will nolonger be backward compatible but who knows maybe there can be a loader option to turn bits off

-be able to have more then one builder build one building and have it build faster.
-a dount spawn (sory FF had to:D)
-all mods always work
-a mod manager (like in supreme commander)
-ship names on the ship (like nxblabla)
-lots of cool stuff that I cant think of right now

@ Merideth: Are you sure that you don't want us to call you 'Rod'. Lol

1-Shield Upgrades With noticable affect w/names (IE Regenerative Shielding, Metaphasic [I know it's starshielding and want work in combat] Multi-feq. shielding
2-Weapons to counter act the shield upgrades and be noticably better aginst lower sheild types.
3-An in-game ship construction station.
4-Subspace weapons
5- "Hero-Buf" captains (Let's say Capt. A. Tapping is assgined to the USS Gateway the Gateway would get a systems boost and mayber a special-special.
6-Transphasic Torpedoes
7-The USS Relativity
8-Bussard Gass collection (So you could suck up a nebula and then expell some of it)
9-Voyagers AAG (Ablative Armor Generator)
10-Lor's Borg Ship
11-Betazoid Scan 9To reviel cloaked units) :)
12-The Genisis Missile
13-Me not being up a 5:03AM

oh yeah one i forgot
-asign different cocoons to different ships that evolve (so u can have one coccoon 4 ship evolution and one 4 station and have the noxter and 8472 have different cocoons

1 - Canon Everything. (except the amount of torpedo launchers on the Akira, is fine as is.)
+ Excelsior Class Cruiser
+ Miranda Class Light Cruiser (As a Frigate)
+ Ambassador Class
+ Centaur Class (Maybe, it's cute)
- No Excalibur! =D (Thank god flops does not have it, I hate that ship.)
+ Tactical Modules to add small bonuses to the Nebula Class

2 - Cardassians. (They are very cute)
+ Keldon Class Warship
+ Galor Class Warship (perhaps even type I,II and III!? Seeing as only Type III has been mentioned).
+ Hideki Class Frigate

Possible non-canon substitutes are either of the ships from Dominion Wars (a rather obscure game)
+Norin Class Light Cruiser
+ Hutet Class Dreadnought
(Not the Tonga class >:D)

3 - Pirates / Orions / Something ( I think they could be cool.)
+ Pirate Light Cruiser and Frigate designs from SFC III?
+ Non-Canon designs
+ Sona?

4 - Race Shields =D Brilliant.
+ (imo all race shields should be similar except the Borg)

5 - Keep it conventional
+ None of that 'End Game' Tech...ruins the balance of power imo
+ No Scimitar...maybe as a map object or crazy neutral ship

1.  a special weapon that can cloak other ships (enemy or ally, as a choice)

2.  a co-dependency structure for odf files.
examples: 
-building turrets that require a root structure to allow weapon (or special weapon) functions; build a power generator that allows a certain number or range of turrets to function, for instance.  When disabled or destroyed, turrets are disabled, but won't be destroyed, left to be re powered by a new generator, and/or vulnerable to attack.   
-ships that are dependent on a station, or a "mother ship"
-requirements of a specific map object such as a nebula.
-special weapon or regular weapon co-dependencies to ships, structures, or even each other. 

*I'm sure the possibilities could be much more diverse. It'd greatly open up new strategic advantages and disadvantages, adding more ingame challenges and oportunities.

Ship Build Limit for pro skilled micromanagement games (as optional mode)

I want to have a close limit of all ships classes to control just a few on their highest efficiency. This would make special weapons worth the resources. Right now mass building goes over special weapons, which is bad for me.

Second dream feature: NPC Bases I can creep to gain more experience.

yes rod works too
and shouldn't Capt. A. Tapping be assigned to say the Odyssey or something and the buff makes it so this ship can launch F-302's but its just a thought

-odf/AI/techtree/sprite editor
-animation tool so we can animate models (without using 3dmax)

i didnt mean for the game just map editor as its a pain to have to have the cd in if your just making maps
