Armada patch project query

Talk about anything related to old versions of Armada.

I'm planning a new large scale, non trek based mod, very soon and need to know. Does the patch project allow for fighter deployment from a carrier based capital ship?? I dont think I like the looks of attempting to build a project over Flops itself as I'm not conversant with the ODF commands as yet (that will take some time to learn), and as its been nearly a year since I done any kind of modding of either Armada game I'm a bit rusty (last release was a small single ship mod of the Yeager Class from DS9, but that was a special request from a member of of of the forums).

If the PP doesn't support this DOCa, is there any plans to add such a feature??

The PP does not, and as far as I know, there are no plans to produce another one. Instead, the next FO version will change all odf commands back to stock names and references making it possible to put stock mods directly into FO with little to no work.

For now, Blade has released a stock mod for FO which you can put mods onto. It basically allows you to use stock mods in FO without doing anything different, but giving you the ability to use FO code if you want. :) I believe you can find it here, MSFC, and a2 files.

Hope that helps!

As far as i recall, the fighter system isn't part of the patch project.

Yep, at the moment there are no plans to continue the patch project. We are currently extending Fleet Operations with features and are implementing more modding features to make Fleet Operations a platform for mods. Maintaining both Fleet Operations and the Patch Project got too time intensive as Fleet Operations added more and more advanced features that couldn't maintain backward compatibility.

yh the mod can be found here but there are a few bugs (sprites missing) that should be fixed in the next version after the latest fo patch is released which should fix the remaining gameplay problems

Version 326 is almost completely compatible with Armada II stock mods - all command names are named the same now, there are just a few problems with some features (shields that change color based on damage, tech assimilation, etc) :). A link to the A2 Classic Mod can be found here: http://www.moddb.com/games/star-trek-ar ... a2-classic

As Optec stated all Fleet Ops versions with a mod manager (32- plus) are designed to act as vastly superior modding platforms to the patch project, and you can expect even more powerful modding capabilities in the near future :) .

The guide describes all ODF commands for Fleet Ops (and stock A2 obviously) and I strongly recommend to take a look at those - as well as how units in Fleet Ops work - before getting concerned over complexity :). You can always message me via email/pm or talk to me on messenger if you have additional questions as well :).
