Armada 2 in Widescreen

For those interested in playing Armada 2 in widescreen format, I have found a solution for you.  If you download the Resolution Changer linked below and follow the instructions, you can play Armada 2 in any resolution you want.  The only buzz kill for me is that I can't find a way to change the resolution on my 2nd monitor, which is also widescreen format. Being able to play at 1650x1080 is a nice treat though and even the stock textures look much better at this resolution.  Give it a try and let us know what you think.

is this still multiplayer compatible, and does it work for Win 7?

As far as being multiplayer compatible, I'm not really sure, I'm not a big online guy.  It does work under Win7 though.

I've had that problem a few times too.  Wait until you go into the game itself then pause and go to graphics settings.  Make sure your resolution is set to the highest res you can set to, then go back into the game and you should be in widescreen.  Hope that helps because it did take a little trial and error on my end to get it to work.

well, when I put the files into the game, it didn't change a thing.  Anyway, it doesn't really matter, because it has the widescreen resolution I use already.  thanks anyway

Do you have the Patch Project 1.2.5 installed?  It has to be installed as well, guess I forgot to include that tidbit of info, sorry.

Can anyone else get this to work?  I have default Armada 2 plus the Patch 1.2.5 installed, followed the directions exactly, and the resolution defaults back to the 1024x768.  I'd really like to play Armada 2 at 1440x900...

Ok this A2 right, not Fleet Ops? Fleet ops works fine in widescreen? Please say yes

Yes this is for Armada II with patch 1.2.5 installed.  Fleet Ops has widescreen res by default and looks amazing.

No offense, but, has anyone else besides Admiral Kirk succeeded in getting this to work?  I have 1.2.5 installed, no other mods, but no matter what it just doesn't seem to do anything.  I'd love for this to work, as much as I like FleetOps, I do enjoy playing Armada 2 as well...call me a purest.

I'd recommend to changing the header of the original post then if you want it locked . Sorry it didn't work
