Animation

Hey everyone, just a quick question from me. As the title suggests, it's about animation. Specifically, animating a SOD file.

Okay, so I've got the model sorted in max and all that, set up the animation, but I've hit a snag. A few of the parts I've animated have both a translation and rotation key frame - and the model loops through one before doing the other.

Is there a way to get around this? I've never even attempted SOD based animation before, so I'm still almost completely clueless. A quick Google search didn't reveal anything either.

I doubt this will provide that much aid, since it is a simplified guide for animation, but perhaps it might still be of some use: Models and Textures - The Hitchhiker's Guide to Fleet Operations

Animation in general was relatively unexplored by most Armada modders, so it's not surprising there's not much out there

EDIT: Blade says "do the rotation and save it then go back to each frame and do the moving animation"

Actually, that link really helped. I hadn't locked in translation key frames on the rotation bit and vice versa. I guess it was trying to run them all at once, hence the problem  .

Does anyone know if the SOD export utility ( Armada II files) within Milkshape works when there is animation in the Milkshape model. The animation works fine in Milkshape but I can't export as a SOD format file .

Nice model! Unfortunately, the only working animation export is in Mr. Vulcans 3ds max exporter.

Thank you. I made some experiments with my models in MilkShape and I succeed to export in the SOD format, but my ship is invisible or the ring does not revolve around the axis.
