I used to play Armada II under Windows XP Professional SP-2 with any issue. However, with a new laptop and an upgraded OS to WINXP SP-3, the game crashes soon after it launches. I have applied ALL available patches and upgrades with the same symptoms. However, I can play the Fleet Operations mod that rides on top of Armada II but it will eventually crash when I save a game and with the same error code: Access violation at address 5AD71531 in module 'UxTheme.dll'. Read of address 00000040. I am not a programmer but it appears that when the "Armada2.exe" launches it makes a call to "UxTheme.dll" in support of visual themes. There is an immediate access violation. This error under my environment is reproducible every time I launch the basic game. Does anyone on this forum have an idea towards a resolution?
