Just wondering what people use the most - what is your preferred layout for each of these vessels and perhaps even why. I'll add the most popular layouts into the guide's database :)

Diamond 1: Beam 1 - Torpedo/Regeneration 1 - Order to Chaos 2
Diamond 2: Beam 1 - Torpedo 1 - Regeneration 1 - Holding Beam 1

Pyramid 1: Regeneration 2 - Torpedo 1 - Holding Beam 1

I usually go for atleast 1 torpedo module, one armor module.

early game, more beams and assim modules so I can take out those pesky destroyers, late game, more armor and torpedos to focus on the larger ships one at a time.

this is for cubes btw.

Barely play Borg, but...

Cube: Beam 1, Torpedo 3, Regeneration 1, Tactical Armor 1

Pyramid: Holding Beam 3, Regeneration 1

Diamond:  Torpedo 1, Regeneration 1, Order to Chaos 2

What you guys all have with Holding beams?

It is quite useless at the moment, especially as you can get tactical armor on the cube for that.

Each Holding Beam Module installed decreases the impact of any special weapons by 20% if I remember correctly.  :whistling: . However, this is not a balance discussion, but rather a survey to determine what would be the most useful statistics to put on the guide :)

Cube:  2 tactical, 3 torpedo, 1 Regen.  Or 2 Tactical, 1 Regen, 3 Holding (for nanite spam)

Pyramid:  4 holding.  Or 1 Nanite, 1 torpedo, 2 regen

Diamond:  3 Diamond modules and any 1 of the rest, usually regen or holding.

i agree with cube: 2 tactical armour, 3 torpedo and 1 regen

the beam offers less combined O/D/S than the final regen (for those thinking of 2 armour, 3 torp, 1 beam) and i dont like the multi target beam that much on a cube. it comes by default with the first beam for hitting small vessels.

Cube: 2 tac armour, 3 torp and regen or if Im feeling adventorous :D 3 holding and 3 torp
Pyramid: 4 holding - I only ever build it for assimilation purposes
Diamond: 3 Diamond and regen - only for support purposes :)

According to the Module, the beam one reduces damage from beam weapons.

yes thats true it has the passive reducing beam damage. but i find the regen more useful.

diamonds i only use for order to chaos (because i find them to fragile), so 3x order to chaos + 1x torp/regen (still unsure which is better)

first cube i send into the battle(because im mostly short on dil at this time) 3xregen, 2x torp 1xregen, also called "bulletcatcher" :D got more effective with this patch because
-the stronger nanites and the high special energy of it makes it easy to mop up destroyers
-the special weapons resistance (75%)  protects it from malicious effects
-not micromanaging enemies will often target this instead of the now following :drumroll:

dps cube, 2xtac 3xtorp 1xregen, the most likely most popular cube configuration
