Defiant Class: Just a new model, so just copy and paste the SOD and odf's. The odf includes new weapon Hardpoints and 'ScaleSOD' size. If your Defiant odf's is already modified, just copy the important lines over instead of the whole odf. The Pulse Phasers are also switched to the Dual-fire sprite used by Turrets.

Valiant Class: A ship that has the same stats as a Defiant, but isn't capable of using 'Critial Shot'. The Pulse Phasers use the single shot sprite, but isn't any different power-wise because I couldn't get the hang of using the Modding Tool for pulse weapons.

The original readme isn't included for either of these because I got them from the Starbase 34 Compilation mod, which doesn't include Readme's. Instead, I'll just put the name of the people who made the ships.

Valiant Class: DJ Curtis (BC original), k_merse (A2 conversion)

Valiant Class textures modified by 1337_64M3R

I may have forgotten to remove the Auto-Destruct from the ships and tooltips, be careful of that.

I liked the 3rd pic of the Valiant... though the others were too bright... can you fix that?

The images are in Storm3D Viewer, those ones are without the shadows/light effects to show the ship.

They're the same as the Defiant ones; 2 images without effects to show the ship, 1 with effects to show what it'd be like in-game.

Oh... Ok... maybe I can give some improved lightmaps... ;) they seem to lack light pattern...

It has lights, I just edited them to make the lights darker where they should be rather than all the same (shades of grey in the lightmap, rather than a white block). I find it to look better that way.

If you can improve them any more, feel free. There's always room to improve something.

The Defiant was really good...
Here I went in and put some glow on those engines as well as a wee bit light on some other places...

They look pretty good, the Impulse engines stand out a bit more now.

TYLER! My game crashed while testing the Valiant. I removed the Destructor thingy... but it still crashed!

It does? The Self Destruct is the only thing not included...

Have you tried making sure the tooltips are correct? I think they can ruin the game (especially if there is a blank line between the ", and the next entry or two of them together).

Hey! yo! Everyone who wants a SPW for the Valiant get this! I tried it out and it works great! :D

This is a Tachyon Torpedo that is launched by the Valiant Class. For install instructions you put everytin in their matching dir and for the files follow along in the "file entries.txt" file. :thumbsup:

It works great! There is no reason it shouldn't...

(Edit) Ohh... :pinch: forgot the yard entries...
just put in replacing one of the "all_delay" code with "fedR_tac_torpedo" code...

(Edit2) Wait... let me look through (some minor difficulties)


AHHHH! I can't get this weapon to work! Can someone help me figure out why the thing has not worked? :crybaby:

I tried and tried! The button and all that appears but it doesn't fire!

Try this version, it should work. Odf's are edited, textures are edited (lightmaps), file entries edited.

On a side note, the instructions need an update; they don't tell anyone to add the research to the shipyard, which can be easily overlooked. Adding it to 'freetech' would also help...

Okay... here is the Valiant Guys... (WARNING: The entries file is configured for those who do not have the Valiant... for those who do please keep this in mind.)

New Features:
- New Lightmaps included with the original ship
- New weapon included (tested and worked...)
- Gui and all that stuff included
- All file entries included
- Updated odfs with the weapon included

I finally worked it! :thumbsup: Now you can enjoy it!
