Not equal Version in MP

I have given my friend the patch and it says "The host has a different version of the game". It says 3.0.7 for the version on both our screens. We've tried TCPIP and Manual IP.

Has anyone else encountered this?

check to see if one of you has a cd crack, that could cause the problem.  and yes, you need a cd to play, *dang shift not working

actually it *shouldnt* happen when using a nocd patch. fleet operations has some code build in to prevent different game versions when using certain nocd patches.
the disk is not required for joining the game. i'd recommend you both try to reinstall fleet operations
