How can I take screenshots during game? How do I hide the interface to create clean shots?
Screenshot can be taken by pressing the alt + p keys during game. Armada then generates a bmp file each time in the Fleet Operations main directory's folder "screenshots". You can hide or show the interface controls by pressing alt + i keys multiple times. The saved screenshots can be found in the Fleet Operations directory. What is the credit resource for and why are there no officers anymore?
The resource managment in Fleet Operations has been redone, so officers, as a maximum limit for normal vessels are no longer required. Credits can be spend on special vessels, technologies or buildings, depending on which race you play.Where are the Single Player missions in Fleet Operations?
Fleet Operations was thought to be a multiplayer mod as tools for creating a real custom singleplayer campaign are not (yet) existant. We didn't want to include singleplayer missions that were only half-new compared to the Armada II missions as neither documentation nor tools (scripts for the campaign are hard coded) have been available. Recently (July 2006) ChessMess, a game designer from Mad Doc announced a file release of the files required to create custom Single Player missions. After release we will of course check those files out and see if a campaign is doable in an extend of quality we have thought of.Where has the third dimension gone? I can't move my ships up nor down!
The third dimension - the height and depth of a map - has been reduced to a new default, which is a feature introduced with Armada II. We believe that this is more obstructive than useful for strategic gameplay. Why is there no warp available in Fleet Operations?
The warp capability of all vessels has been removed. Although maps are larger in Armada II than in Armada I, warp capable ships could reach any point of the map within seconds. To allow a more strategic accented gameplay only impulse speed is available (like it has been in Armada I). Main aspect of this feature cut is the fact of one-sided warpin-shot-warpout tactics to reach the highest efficiency during assault. Unfortunately, warp destroys gameplay in Armada II.
