I dont know whether i am in the right room to post this question but who cares! I downloaded Fleet Ops yesterday, installed it...yaddy yaddy ya. Its a brilliant game but it runs too slow on the comp, even at low graphics. My comps fast, but i think my graphics card is sh*thouse.

The asteriod fields and space dust that are in Fleet Ops look a hell of a lot more better than the ones in the original patched version. So heres my question. I was wondering.
How could I put the asteroid fields from Fleet ops to the original?
Or is it even possible to do this?

Thanks

my brother tells me i have:

- amd athlon 1700xp
- 64mb geforce 2 mx
- 256 mb ddr ram
- 40 gig disk space

considering that armada II came out when my system was brand new, i'd expect that the bloody game would work smoothly aswell.

I also tried modding some file without a program. I could do it on the first Armada but not with Armada II. It says when i try altering say an .odf file that the file exisists with Read Only Attributes

sounds like you may have too low ram, 512 should be ok. you will notice an overall performance increase in games if you upgrade to 512mb. If you switch to the task manager during a game the maximum of 256mb ram should be reached or over that number, then files will be cached on your hd slowing down every game, and that not only affects fleet operations.

I agree with Doca,
Except for the graphics card wich is a little dated i would say that the ram is your biggest hiderence their. The processor checks out, ive seen fleet ops run smooth at a lot lower clock speed and the hard drive isnt that big of a factor.

About the odf's,
Select the odf or group/entire folder full you want to mod and "Right click on it or one of the selected group, go to properties and under atributes go to read only, and uncheck the box.
