To build the things, I guess. You can't make ships out of dilithium alone...

Anyway, yeah, my more independant-base idea is similar to trading ships. Having NPC ships fly in from the exterior of the

The dependant-base idea is that trading ships have to travel from the player-owned trading dock to a neutral (or capturable) trading facility.

The ship isn't made of dilithium, that's just a material they use to regulate power so the ship doesn't blow from a huge power surge from the warp core (if I remember correctly)

Off topic, but lithium is actually an element, so dilithium maybe means 2 lithium...? XD

:geek:  :omg:  uhmmm i wouldn't  even take one step in a ship made out of lithium. lithium is the softest metal around. and has a melting point of 180 degrees. in the industry lithium is used as an additive to coagualte lube and for batteries. man if you make a ship out of it you can't even get out of the atmosphere because your ship would melt. yeat alone stand the heat of a phaser.

but atleast you won't be depressed about it because  the salt lithium is the most common ingredient for anti depressive pills so you will die happy  LOL
