older ships as miranda and constitution are mainly planned as map objects so you will see them in a future version of fleet operations but in which way is not sure yet.

But the Miranda still is being used by Starfleet, well probably in a state of decommisioning but that sets them apart....much

I'm with TMP on this one, Miranda variants are still being used, maybe they could serve a low capacity like a different Avatars repair ship? And granted Consitution class and they're refits are ancient but maybe they could be an Avatar's Colony Ship, say, Kirk Avatar (just to add a little homage to him and his Constitution class ship's Wink

i think that would be cool to get this shipclass for colonization, wit lil chances to defend itself against attacks while travelling... but its useless in FO...cause there are no planets to colonize... LOL

Not yet but i'm sure I read the planets will be coming in 3.0 or 4.0 Either colony or base defence ship, not enough use against a fleet but possibly against pesky scouts. 'vermin-killers'  Cheesy

But the planets would have to have some sort of orbital defense station.

The problem with planets in A2 was that the planets were too easy to take over.

We took the colonisation out cause it has had no real use for strategy game and we just didn't like the way colonisation was made in armada 2. colonisation will be back when it has a real good use and it is more fun colonizing a planet than just look how a ship flies around it and gets smaller and smaller, disappers and suddenly you get more crew. Smiley so when you or we have a good idea how we can change colonisation to a more interesting (and moddable) way that is worth to bring it back, then just shout out loud in the forum. Smiley (extra thread preferred)

Thread title changed

You don't like my idea of crew getting dropped off by freighters or transports at starbases?

i dont think thats a good way.. cause u still need some crew members for the freighters... well it would be more realistic.. but... i dont like it that much that i could definitly say i want it in the game... but on the other hand... it could be real fun/disappointin to attack/protect those ships.. but it wouldnt make sense that much, cause not all races use such a thing... dominion use cloning facilities.. borg these so called incubation stations.. noxter dont even need crewmen... so half of the actual races dont need something like that... and it would be just an eyecandy what could be done in later versions...

PS: and i dont even know if its moddable or not... with all the changes to the ferengi freighters to every specific race...

Well dude they would be powerful and neutral like the Feringi, not every race would use them, and only forseeable problem is them getting stuck in asteroids Smiley
