hm i dont like the borg in a2 much, thats the same problem there, the only ship that someone can really call "powerful" is the fusioncube an that tacticalfusioncube.
the other cubes and spheres got the same problem. thats why i think activision didnt do their job right Wink Cheesy

First of all, activision didn't make the game, mad doc software did, activision is just a publisher, they don't develope anything. Though Activision did screw up the development of the game. They had it all set up to use beautiful new models, but they were taking too long, activision got impatient, and they rushed the completion and just sent it out. Hense why A2 sucked so much. A2 was made with all races using the exact same tech tree or small variations of it. All races were pretty much the same race with different ships. The only large variation was 8472 and even then the variation went so far, then went back to the same old same old. Neither Activision nor Vaicomm (Paramount) cares for the trekkies any more, all they want is the money, and only the money. Hense why enterprise sucks and is so uncannon and filled with trash. I however don't like the idea of slow building but extremely powerful ships, by the time u build enough ships to defend ur enemies have swarmed u and destroyed u, much less try and attack

You see, that's exactly what I wanted to say in post 23 of this thread.
I think my idea solves the problem of combining having enough ships in the beginning and having strong big cubes in the end of a match.

I could get used to the Borg being Borgish. Just dont want them too powerful too early or too hard to start off. Balancing them is critical.

hm.. i dont know what uīr talkin bout.. i play borg, since this game came out, and itīs just a matter of tactics.

cause for defense at the beginning of a match u can use interceptors.. then u know why they got this name Wink
an maybe a few spheres or assiīs... thats just strats..
for me it was harder to play with the romulans than the borg.. u know..
but i still think their too weak.

i think its player based, whats "too hard" or "too slow"... just get more balance in the design of the ships an let other ppl judge if u think itīs good enough.. Wink Cheesy

Theres a slight issue with the whole, upgrading, refitting cubes thing
Feds have sovvies, u have a cube the equivilent to a borg sphere, why not just use the borg sphere in the first place. I like the variety in ships but it needs to be simpler then it is now.

its just that ur everytime in a damn need of resources.. thatīs all.. if the freighters could carry more at once or do their job faster, u could kick ass from the scratch.

I use, borg with infinite resources, it has nothing to do with mining, it's the fact that decent ships require alot of stations and research to actualy be able to build them.

You arnt facing a real enemy if you can build whatever you want right off the bat. A real warrior never uses infinate or lots of resources.

yea and real "warriors" never do simple rushin tactics... but look around in the gamespy-lobby and face reality.. there are only a few "warriors"..

i dont like playin that way, but thats what the most ppl do.. many resources an rushin..
