Then take the current units and copy then and modify them to not have the Warp Drive then all is good having the AIs not to have Warp, while you do, heehee.

conquest frontier wars maps would be great-then we could do an entire galaxy game, or at least a few sectors.

mh, i never tested the maximum mapsize out, but it should be unlimited. but cause the intensive use of map objects on good flops mad and the lack of a warp drive they shouldn't be that large as some a2 maps are.

Heres a question, Activision no longer has the license to do Star Trek games right? So whos got it now, or hasnt there been anything confirmed. I have a feeling Atari might be after it if its not snaped up, they seem to be doing just about everything else. lol

what about having warp gates for long distance travel, due to that Warp drive is not in the game, each race can have a Warp Gate, and the Gate allows a ships to travel to the other end of the map?

only the Borg  have such jumping gates - namely the transwarp hub. the other races won't have on and won't get one unless you find something similar as a non playable building to capture Smiley

Sounds Good Optec, and i belive that the only playable race with it should be the borg.

I´m testing the warp drive reintegrated to FlOps at the moment.
I´ve set warp speed to max 150 and normal cruise speed to different speeds from 30 to 75. I limited the distance to a minimum of 15k to start warping for the ai.
So far all is running fine, except some glitches when ships, which are set to full movement autonomy, try to warp short distances, but I can live with it.
A real pain was to get back the warp flare.
The maximum size of maps which is playable with my comp is 60k x 60k with not too much nebulas.
So I have a quite big area and warping is not too fast.
For me it´s the best compromise so far.
