Also without warp the team I'm thinking is wanting to slow the game down abit so that u won't see huge fleets built up and just send them into your enemies bases.
Instead u rely on strategy and certain weapons to defeat your opponents.

The Warp Drive was lame, especially when the AI used it... an irritating, useless and tactically n00b like feature used just to keep Trekkies happy and to stop them complaining - well unleast until they wanted XYZ rare ship in the game.

/end rant.

warp drive was a good idea but done lame if they used multiple maps like Conquest frontier wars then warp would have been good but cause it was just too damn fast for its own good and defeated the point of the strategy in the game sometimes so hey but what would be nice is if there is ever a startrek rts game again that they get the guys from fever pitch studios to do it as they would do it kickass

Don't get your hopes up too much but Activision and Mad Doc are in discussions with a 3rd party to do a Armada 3 based on Homeworld 2 from what I hear at AFC forums.

Emails have been sent to Activision and they said they are "studying it". Wink

activision doesn't have the star trek license anymore and homeworld 2 is from sierra, have you any sources about that?

that's a rumor. i don't think thats true, cause there is no party which actually has the licence from paramount to make a star trek game.. and i don't think acticivision will make a new startrek game, cause they where the ones who declined their startrek licence, not paramount

Thats the Guy leading the Voyager A2 mod (im on his team), and I have several points of why it aint true.

A: Activision does not have the lisence and would get their asses sued.
B: Homeworld 2 was Sierra
C: It couldent be made by another company with since activisinon owns the Armada Franchise.

Like I said dont get your hopes up but thats the rumour and the only thing that makes me think are the emails being returned saying they are studying it and not a flat-out no.

With game tech the way it is there surely should be a better Armada 3 then 2 was.
But I'm not complaing too much, it's been my hobby for along time. It's the game that I started modding and I have been faithful to it as much as I am faithful to my wife Cheesy

I much prefer smaller one on one missions where u actually have to use tactics to navigate maps just like dungeuns.3D missions like SFC series and Bridge Commander mixed with Full Fleet Engagements.

What I want is Armada 2 morphed into Warcraft 3!And my wife with a bigger chest.
lol
