come to think of it..... i don't think adding the galaxy X is realy an option I mean technicaly they'd be adding a ship twice to the game
Wich seems like such a wast sence there's so many other fed ships to choose from like the New Orleans Class, Akula Class, Achilles Class, or evan "MAYBE" a cannon Miranda Class
infact heres a thought while we'r on the "wast of space topic" lets chuck the ugly excelsior II and just make the warpin Excelsior turn into the Lakota when she gos veteran??? maybe evan make the Galaxy do the same and be refitable into a Galaxy X???

yea the Excelsior II is a fine ship but honestly I feel it belongs in the Mixed Tech yard not taking the place as the next gen excelsior wich should be the Lakota
I think it was evan stated in a DS9 episode ( cant remember it exactly ) but I think to remember the dominion trying to do bad guy stuff and sending the USS Lakota ( Excelsior Lakota refit ) to kick the crap out of the Defiant

None of the above.
Ooh - but I wouldn't mind the Century-class.
(Foreground - other two are Courageous- and Dawnstar-class, also nice designs.)

Ares, becaus it has a really different desogn compared to all other wnown vessels. But i would prefer to give it to excalibur, because i don't want the GalaxyX to win.

If you didn't want either pretty ship to win, you should have voted for the Diligent. That one is close to both of them.

yes, this being 30 years(or something like that) after nemesis the century would definitely be in the experimental stages. Actually the dawn star would be good too. not that I haven't already said that. But the courageous would make the best Romulan mixed tech ship. ( didn't already say that either. )

Well that's a good ship too, but it has no chance to overvote the GalayX if the overall relation stays as it is, so my vote is worthless there.
The dawn star is a beautifol ship, that's true.

Mimesot - to answer your question you posted yesterday - a high tech design = a design with an overall look that inspires technology advancement. It doesn't need to be the ultimate inner tech, but design wise i'm talking about. It's like looking at a Ferrari Enzo and a Bentley Continental. In terms of technology they bouth have kind of the same stuff, but in terms of design the enzo looks really high tech, while the bentley looks really classic and conservative. Now on the diligent class, compaired to all the other round nacel, standard warp engine looking ships ( they all look like a modified galaxy in a way or another ), looks less conventional, and more futuristic - the next evolution from an already old design. That is what high tech is - futuristic from the standard design of the rest. I am a concept artist for many mods, and high tech or futuristic are 2 expresions we use alot in defining how a unit should look like. So i don't really see a reason to call me foolish. Next time try to understand the meaning of the words from an esthetic point of view before you judge someone's opinion.

Well, if the term is meant like you are telling me, i'd say that the term is foolish, not you!
One of men's greatest weaknesses is, that we can be manipulated by marketing so much. Take a product and wrap it in a different looking design, entitle it with a name that promisis some benefit, and everyone will believe that the product is better than the old one.
In case of the enzo one can at least see it's aerodynamic shape and conclude that it is made for speed rather than for comfort. But it is only prejudice that we assume it to have a ferrari engine inside and not one of a nissan micra.
I personally favour the term futuristic, because it just implies that it is something that has not been there before, maybe even developement. I do understand the term Hi-Tech in the common sense, but sometimes I just feel urged to nudge people and question them about what they are saying or believing.
