Since there does seem to be almost no strategies, I'll throw my 2 cents in. The defense platforms in this mod are useless against large scale attacks. My advice to you is always have 2 balanced fleets at your base at least. Putting a few Defense Platforms wont hurt anything and can be usefull with the klingons combat tractor beams but dont depend on them to stop anything. The best way to start off is to make a fleet of light ships immediatly and use half of em to attack an enemy base and throw em off balance. If your lucky, you can send that player off balance and ruin his chances for winning in game. Borg can transwarp a fleet of cubes to the rear of a base where defense should be it's lightest and take out research, their outpost, resource ships, etc. Romulans and Klingons can cloak their way next to a base and suprise an enemy early in game, especially with the klingon k'vorts and their torpedos. Always send a cloaked spy into the enemy base if your a rommie or klingon. 3 fleets of balanced ships can destroy a base if you do it right. Going for research and resource collecting stations can bring your enemy to their knees. The best fed plan would be a straight out attack on a base with point defense ships mixed in. Klingons dont even have any defensive structure that can take an akira with point defense. Well, thats about all I can think up right now, hope this helps out with some of ya noobies Cheesy

well turrets are ok in the early parts so they aint that bad but i agree dont rely on them what i usually do is build an outpost and turrets around it as well as sensor arrays then build fleets of akiras and remores and sabres to defend the station that way they circle and any attack can be repeled but i always keep at least 2balanced fleets and a specialised fleet ready 1 fleet to remain at base and the other 2 to attack

When attacking far away from your ship yards, build a heavily defended outpost with a few yards near the enemy for reapirs/building

If playing kling/rom, cloak, find enemies, decloak, destroy, and cloak again. use to wipe out small attack forces attempting to reach your base.
