You can do this from the desktop or from the main game directory. Find ds9dw.exe or it's shortcut and right click it. Go to Properties and then Compatibility. Then in the drop down box select which version of Windows you want the game to run for.
I had alot of problems with the game and it not acting right but somehow managed to get it working long enough to beat the campaigns. Hope this helps, AIM or MSN me if you can't get it working or got questions.

im tryin birth of the federation right now (not the mod for a2, i mean the old game)... its quite cool... feels when i play it like i missed something tha way back in years really nice micromanagement game |
