As already anounced in some forum topics, the next patch 3.0.6 will feature a lot of changes and new features, like the Veteran Vessels. I want to present you a few of those inovations today.

A major problem in the past was the scaling of subsystem disabling weaponry. A disabled weaponsystem on a Borg Cube is far more fatal then on a Saber Class. To counter that problem we extended the system value to give a vessel resistences against such effects. Both the duration and the chance of being affected are reduced. In addition you will find new resistence effects added to the Borg Regeneration module.

Another change you might notice is a change in many weapons is their ability to fire bursts instead of single shots. While thats basically eyecandy used for the Quantum Torpedoes and Klingon disruptors, it has become a gameplay feature for the Romulans. All Romulan vessels will now fire much faster at the beginning of a battle, but slowly get higher reload times while the battle lasts on. Once a vessel remains out of fight for 15 seconds, the effect is refreshed. This change should underline Romulan hit and run character and encourage players to use traps and nastry strategies.

Of course such gameplay changes are not the only new stuff. You will find a few new models for old stuff, like in the past patches. The Ambassador Class is also ready for Federation Warp-In now.

As promised, another sneak peak of Veteran Vessels. The Romulan Rhienn Class gains a refined cloaking technology, allowing Veteran Rhienns to strike at their victims while cloaked!

Beautiful guys, should fix a lot of those pesky problems the Borg have!
One question/comment though: won't the Romulan changes impair their ability to fight later game when more heavy hitting ships are used and cloak becomes somewhat unuseable?

The Ambassador looks great!

A question still... With all the changes, will the 3.0.5 maps be compatible with 3.0.6 and up?

I'd like to ask a few questions:

1) How does the subsystem disabling weaponary work now then? Is the hit chance such a weapon reduced somehow proportional to the systemvalue of the value (like e.g. (100-sysValue)/100 hitchance), or is it the duration reduced, or is it's effectiveness reduced (decreased attack speed)?

2) Is the new romulan special purpose vessel included in 3.0.6?

3) Will the burst of fire apply to torpedo weapons only, or the pulse disruptors too, ot also beam weapons?

4) Is the rhienn disruptors refits passive ability removed or altered then? (to avoid any redundancy)

The Ambassador looks really great!

Most subsystem disabling weapons got adjusted, their base durations got incrased and some have a new, more interessting mechanic (like for example disabling weapons based on the number of special abilities a target may have and stuff like that). System Value grants a small chance to fully resist a subsystem disabling effect (a weapon will still hit, because some weapons - like the new Polaron Torpedo - do not only disable system but du also deal damage and that damage is not reduced). In addition the System Value reduces the duration of all system disabling effects. All effects last for less then their half duration on a cube for example. Thats ment to symbolize the higher technological capabilities and recover strategies of advanced and larger vessels, support ships for example.

Its not yet sure weather or not the new Romulan Vessel will make it in 3.0.6. If not, then it will decloak in 3.0.7 soon after 3.0.6

Burst fire is available for weapons now, like Klingon pulse disruptors and Quantum Torpedoes. The new Romulan game mechanic affects all weapons. The Rhienn Class passive ability will stay to underline the effect. We are currently thinking about changing it to improve the new baseline Romulan ability

its already inbalanced and too powerful and gets spammed like hell and also makes the shrike pointless and well is spammed to hell!!!

i was hoping to see the Rheinne nerfed as Dominus can tell you, lol!

otherwise the rest of it sounds beautiful!!!!

P.S. you need to look at the assimilation Avatar still as late game its rubbish, assimilates too slowly and runs out of special energy too fast....

That's not the whole changelog, just some new core changes. Other adjustments will be done too, loke for example some changes to the Assimilation Avatar, it greatly increases the durability of Assimilators now to make them a better baseline and assimilation platform

just added "preview" to the title to make it clearer

Its not yet sure when the patch will be released, the many balancing changes and new features require some testing and not all are yet completed, but it shouldn't take long
