The Dominion is known for conquering and occupying whole worlds, therefore their Mix-Tech feature got a bit special compared to the Mix-Tech of other races. Instead of gaining only one complete new unit for one unique alien technology they will gain their new Mix-Tech vessel for every captured race: The famous Dreadnought! Its basic stats however will be modified dependent on the alien technology you got it from.

V-15 Dreadnought
The Dreadnought is an ultra-heavy Battleship, comparable to the Tavara and other giants. It's quite slow but his devastating armament is able to crush whole fleets. Newer versions of the Dreadnought are also equipped with a Hyperspace Disruptor which will deal double damage to stations. The Dreadnoughts special ability is Overwhelming Presence.
As the Dreadnought costs 6 credits it is a unique tool of war. It's best used within a small fleet to counter and destroy an enemies offense. Its special ability gives you immense control over your opponent, cause his or her vessels won't be able to do much but receiving massive damage. Two Dreadnoughts heading to a base should invoke a Wolf-359 like panic!

Overwhelming Presence
All hostiles within an area covered by 50 percent of the Dreadnoughts sensor range are incapacitated for 8 seconds. Incapacitated targets can neither receive nor execute orders.

And as some additional Dominion info, here comes the complete Mixed-Tech list:

Federation Technology:
  • V-15 Dreadnought
    + 50 Defensive Value

  • C-17 Siege Cruiser
    + 3 Defensive Value
+ The EM-Blast special ability will shot down the engines of affected units in addition to the normal effect

  • B-5 Battle Cruiser
+ Double-Layer Shields (increased Defensive Value)

Klingon Technology:
  • V-15 Dreadnought
    + 50 Offensive Value

  • A-20 Attack Destroyer
    + 1 Offensive Value
    + Superiority Destroyer passive ability

  • A-26 Bomber
    + 2 Offensive Value
+ Tetrion-Photon Torpedo replaced by Compound Tetrion-Photon Torpedo

Romulan Technology:
  • V-15 Dreadnought
    + 50 System Value

  • C-11 Interception Destroyer
    + 3 System Value
+ Cascade Feedback replaced by Shield Recharge

  • T-15 Heavy Cruiser
    + 2 System Value
    + May be refitted

Borg Technology:
  • V-15 Dreadnought
    + 20 to all Attributes

  • S-2 Escort Cruiser
    + 2 to all Attributes
+ Alpha Ketracel White replaced by Gamma Ketracel White which will last longer and will not cause crew casualties

  • T-15 Heavy Cruiser
    + 2 to all Attributes
+ Assault will fire over long range instead of short range

Looks awesome Cheesy

I'm a tad confused as to how it works though - if you capture, say, a Romulan and a Federation unit that you use for Mix-Tech, does the Dreadnought get +50 Defensive AND +50 System values, or does it just get whichever you captured first?

I was wondering the same thing...or maybe the mixed-tech mechanic only ever allows you to have alien technology at a time?

See this older Newspost about Mixtech

You capture a Constructor from the Romulans, then you build den Mixtechyard (Romulan) and research Capture Technology, the you can build all Mixtech Ships the Dominion gets from the Romulan. Expample: The Dominion Dreadnought with +50 Offensiv Value

from the murky depths he returns: Detektor!

so, where is baron?

[::edit:] so i can only build that behemoth when I have a partner in crime?
[::edit2:] what means incapitated, does that mean:: dead in space? or does that mean: I ignore all orders you give and continue with that what you told me last?

I have killed thousands. I have killed proud young warriors and wise old rulers. I have killed mothers with babes in their arms. I have killed the just, the wicked, and the beautiful. I have done this for two thousand years in the service of His Divine Shadow and  apparently the fun never stops!

incapacitated targets can not act, ergo can't do nothing but receiving damage. a given order will be executed once the effect wears off

Yep, the dreadnought is only available if you have a non-Dominion ally or if you captured a non-Dominion constructor. Luckily the new War Frigate is a troopship which makes capturing single targets much more comfortable Smiley

Sweeeet ! That Dreadnought has an incredible amount of details, looks like I'm gone need to buy a new video card. By the way, are there some options in video settings to tune the game to play smoothly on those not so powerful systems ? Like in "Company of Heroes" if you know what I mean, that game has tones of setting in video windows, and with the right setting I've able to play it on my old rig at 1280x1024. I have an lcd display and at any resolution other than the native one look bad. Thanks and keep up the good work

if you had no issues with 3.0pr then you won't have any with v3.0 final. despite vessels and stations have alot more details now, in most cases the final version should be even running faster than the preview release version.

Hehe, everyone..... prepare to be fuck3d Wink Tongue
Sounds awesome from the describtion, I like the special weapon too Cheesy

1 question though: What are its weapons? Torpedo or beam based? From the screens I would say beam but in the show it was torpedo. So if you can clear that up Id be very happy Smiley

All in all: Great job as always
