Yeah i know, dumbass question of the year, but i was just curious. Its called "Armada II: FO" so i'm guessing it is, but i noticed there's some big differences between the two, especially with the federation and special weapons.

Of course there can be alot of canonical explenations made (i.e. temporal weapons were banned thus no more Temp. Research or Gemini effect, and tachyon grids need to be bigger, hence the removal from most of the scouts), but then what about the PDP, chain reaction pulsar, and stuff like that?

With all the other races its alright, since their fleets have been almost totally replaced, but the feds have most of their A1 ships still around, and yet alot of the special weps are gone.

Good question. Maybe the staff believed things like that were to far-fetched?

I like the Chain Reaction Pulsar, but is is quite unrealistic.
Point Defence Phaser should still be in, just not visible. (As in I think is is but am not sure)
Some were left in, but in a new form.

yea, i liked the chain reactor and gemini special weapons too, however we wanted to make a step closer to "realism" so those weapons didn't quite fit in our concept, thats why we haven't integrated them back.
i think point defence isn't in as it may cause some issues with other special weapons. optec should know more about.

"historically" fleet operations doesn't consider armada 1 or 2 as canon
