I have made an in-depth report on the Klingon Blitz attack and what needs to be changed to resolve it, this is in response to the poll found linked below:

Thanks for the report.

The described problems have already been sorted by the new v3 balancing. A rush is not impossible, but much harder to organize.

I love that. We have a problem, and when we tell the mod team, they're like "Oh that? Yeah we fixed that ages ago in the next release. But you can have gold star for finding it too!" I tell ya, this mod is in good hands.

Yeah but where's the point in playing a tournament with a game which is so utterly broken from a balance perspective?

Changes in the next version are good, but either a patch to restore balance or a release date for the next version are necessary.

I think we have to surely be getting to the point where it's time to say current FleetOps is broken and the new version is needed, I understand the teams desire to release a complete and thorough version but the amount of time it has taken is getting quite ridiculous.

When it's released it will likely need a fair amount of time to balance it, though I understand Optec is putting effort into doing that now. However a community is far better at finding what needs to be changed as the metagame evolves.

The game is competitively unplayable as it is.

I think you're over reacting. All people need to doe is either not be klingons, or be honourable enough to not use the rush tactic. Its far from unplayable.

Rushing is a valid part of the game and a strategy which should be rewarded if pulled off, we shouldn't have to avoid it in order to keep things "fair".

A hotfix list would probably only need to include:

1. 200% increase to Starbase DPS.
2. Removal of Klingon Starbase K'tinga Build Ability.
3. Reduction in damage of ALL destroyers against Cruisers and Battleships by 75 percent.

Instantly you've got a better game.

the k'tinga's are the cargo ships of the klingons right? the starbase builds them as cargo ships and we convert them into fighting ships. its been a while since i played but if i'm correct then if they were removed from the starbase buildlist how do we get more cargo ships for our dil and tri? are you talking about removing the convert function?

its a good report James but 1 major flaw, the blue text is not suitable for a report on klingons.  LOL

@ Frodo - No mate, the K'tinga which is buildable from the starbase isn't a mining ship. Hence why there is a problem.

you can build the mining ships and i see no issue with this as they cost more, and take longer to build, however you can click the button the convert them to k'tinga's if you do that or build a k'tinga you can not convert (back) to a mining ship.

Lol @ the font colour i was aiming for fleetops style!

Ah ha i remember now, i'm really gonna have to play a game again lol

From what i remember though, the Bops are very deadly and IMO thats cos of their firerate. Perhaps reducing that might limit its effectiveness as a rush attack BUT then i would think it would notbe very cannon for the Bops to fire slow or not be powerful
