Hello everyone,

Just pulled out my copy of Armada II, blew the dust off it , and having so much fun with fleet ops after so many years. I have a couple problems though.

1. I cant remember how to create an Alliances Game? I dont want teams to be locked! (ie. make/break an alliance in game)

2. What has happened to the Borg, Cardassian Union, and Species 8472? Does Fleet Ops mod remove them? Because there is still option for species 8472 mothership movement in advanced options but no species 8472 race option?Huh???

If somebody could help me out it would be much appreciated.

Thankyou

Hey mate, welcome aboard! Smiley

Answer1: Alliance games are not part of Fleet Operations anymore, however, there is the possibility Optec and DOCa are mercyfull and put in in the game again in another future version.

Answer2: Borg are currently under reconstruction, getting a complete face lift and game play change. Actually... they are "complete" again Wink and just waiting to assimilate the alpha quadrant... and of course add some biological and technological resources from the Gamma Quadrant. they'll be in again with the upcoming version which is very close to be released.

Answer3: The Settings Options are still old and have been altered for the final Version 3. Species 8472 will, perhaps, be back in another version but don't count on that. I don't like it by myself but the creators of this outstanding pease of game have desided to kick them out of the concept. SHAME ON YOU! Tongue

Finally you have to be aware of that the version you are playing is still a beta version of the real thing and lots of stuff you still see in there will not be seen again, so the mother move around option for example. Have fun playing the game and stay tuned for the real release of the game in the next couple of months/weeks (noone knows but its close).

Thanks alot!!!

Your reply was so very informative!  What a shame the alliances game has been removed, as well as capture the flag. Sad My family, friends and I would love to LAN Armada2 and backstab eachother right at the very end by switching allies and enemies, hahahahah, so many laughs, LOL

Cant wait for this next mod to come through then, seeing as the BORG ,my favourite are coming back in with a new look! How long have you been waiting so far?Huh??

I have another question though, Why when i try and play the unmod'ed ST Armada II, in the Activision folder, the allliance game is removed from there also? Is that an effect of the BETA mod?

Enjoy your ArmadaII gaming, I had no idea this community existed, I never realised so many people enjoyed the game just like my friends and I.

So is there a specific reason why the people who have developed this great mod  cool chose to remove the options of different game styles?Huh?

It seems a little unnecessary to remove an option which can be turned on/off at the user's own pleasure don't you think? Or is there a reason that I am not aware of?

It is in every other RTS game I have ever played, and although you can still be on the same team as another person, in a war/battle, you dont choose your side beforehand, you see who is the strongest and try to ally with them, thats what makes the game so much more exciting.
