This has been asked about many times already. In future, please do a search and read the previous threads before making a new one.

To answer your question, as far as we know they are not planned.

Good to see long term members giving new ones a warm welcome. Jesus.

Welcome to the forums jrenda!!  cool

I'd love to see the cardies myself, as long as they were separate from the dominion and not integrated. I personally believe it's better to keep races independent, so that if you want an alliance you can just team up, it seems to be the most flexible solution.

Actually, as far as I remember, they are planned as an NPC on some maps for after V3

Hey Jrenda nice to have ya here Cheesy

will the cardies get any new ships and stuff? allot of there stuff before the dominion war plain sucked balls and was undermanned and under powered.  It wasn't until they formed an alliance with the dominion that all there ships became bad ass. I dont really know where im going with this

That's a very good point. Sorry.

Hi Jrenda, welcome to the forums! =)
I didn't mean to sound curt, it's just I've seen this question so many times, lol.
I'd love to see them too, but I don't really mind if they're not in the mod.

I agree, I think it's way more exciting to play the Dominion or the Borg. Perhaps they should think about this as a long term objective, if indeed they haven't already.

To my knowledge, the plan is for the Cardassians to be in the mod as what is called a "Major NPC" faction. This means they'll appear on maps as AI-controlled factions that the player can destroy or capture (much like the Breen were in V2) but they will have a much larger techtree than "minor NPCs" (though it will not as big as a playable faction).

So wheras most NPC factions have just one or two ships and stations, the Cardassians will have several of the station types (a starbase, miner, shipyard, research base) and several ships (even including support cruisers of their own IIRC). They are totally seperate from the dominion, and while they can't be played directly, if you can capture their starbase (or perhaps hire them in later FO versions), their all yours to command.

They also have a role in the FO storyline when i last heard (something about a Noxter invasion), so if there were ever any single player missions, expect them to star. (to be honest, i've been having a little idea of my own involving them, but i'm waiting until i can discuss it with Optec at some point).

Will the cardys be abule to ally with a nother player? If not I think it would be cool if they had that ability.

It would allso be cool if they could be slected in the squeamish menu for the AI payers just not the human ones.
