Well i have some ideas about how to make some ships better then they are now. Well... more canon and logic then they are now...     Anyways:

1. Why the hell everyone think that Klingons should have powerfull weapons?! Think... the more powerfull weapon is going to be - more advanced technology is needed to make it work, and as we all know they are not smart race. So i dont really think klingons ships should have powerfull Phaser and overhelming torpedos, instead of this you should give thaem more weaker weapons. For example 5phasers and 2torpedo lounchers for Neg'Var class ship. That will give the player this feeling of pure brutal power and wil not make the race overpowered and also as canon as possible. Oh and maybe make their shields weaker and give them rrrrrrealllyyy resistant hulls.

2. BORG Cube in V2, i... just dont now what can i say. Do you guys even remember what One cube have done in Wolf battle and what CUBES are? They are herolds who colective send to assimilate new civilizations or destroy them. But now (V2) i need two CUBES and three assymilators to assymilate ONE Neg'Var class star ship and just dont have energie to take next one. My advice - Make them cost a lot moore and for the god sake make them worth this price. They should use credits and have not 1500 but at least 3000 crew.Should have powerfull shields, rather weak hulls, and one realy strong phaser/s (maybe three weaker) and one torpedo louncher.

And why tactical CUBE dont have phasers and assymilation ability? they are modyfied CUBES so they should have all normal cube have and more - like some serious hulls protection but also should be faar more expensive, take more credit and be very slow.

3. Ships size also could be improved, especially for:
-Neg'Var
-Cubes
-Dominion/Breen strongest ships (i dont remember the names and not even the ships itself from TV, but they look like some serious firepower)

I know that it's not so easy to use big ships in game, especially when asteroids pool is blocking the way, but dont you think that will force to think more about their tactic? Of course dont make them too big! Try experiment with size if you want find good combination.

Thats all my ideas for now. Please comment Cheesy
Hmm, and sorry if i was mean that was preaty exciting day for me.

Well, the way the FO team is proceeding: Borg cubes have almost no shields (as holding with canon), extrememly resilient hulls, high crew, and are extremely powerful (one can take out many ships). Remember, v3 ain't v2. V3 = pure awesomeness! They probably will have bunch of graviton torpedoes and phasers to be so powerful too  . Personally I think that Kilingons are relatively technologically advanced (cloaking, anybody?). Plus they do have access to some cool tech even on the shows so they obviously do have scientists. Plus, because they are so militaristic, all their tech is dedicated to warfare, so thus they should have better and more impressive weaponry. Negh'vars are getting a rehaul is size I believe, as are cubes (look at the pictures under Borg in V3). Not sure about tac cubes yet: they probably are a ton stronger than normal cubes in v3, which means a lot  Cheesy

yep. We've all posted similar posts, though not at one go.
The mods have taken such ideas into account when developing V3.
Check out the development details for all the races in the dev section, you'll find your suggestions have already been implemented. Well, most of them anyway.

and that Single Borg cube you mentioned also had Locutos on it and he was Jean Luc Picard who was a starships captain, i.e he would have known all of the ships weakness's etc etc.

Even so, a single Borg cube is quite a formidable opponent (discounting Voyager's stuff)... They destroy whole species with ONE ship, keep that in mind  Azn
When Picard was in First Contact, he destroyed the cube rather quickly when he arrived (due to his knowledgeg), although before he got there the cube was decimating the Fed fleet

so what would power values be for a cube? i mean would 2 cubes be able to take on a hole fleet of ships? or would it be decimated by the fleet?

depends on the fleet and the cube configuration of course Smiley but cubes easily hit 3-digit numbers for offensive, defensive an system values. They are quite capable

out of wonder are you using your own custom classlabel for the pod thing, some sort of modification to the research pod thing... so you have given a sphere say 3 research pods but 4 or 5 possible things to research restricting what you do.

or have you used species 8472 evolve classlabel with different evolutions each time till your at the end of the chain?

The strongest force that pushes a people to develop new technology is war. WW2 brought about whole new technologies that would have taken much longer to develop in peacetime (or never) such as rocket and jet propulsion... So a race which is constantly at war, both internally and externally, I think the Klingons should have powerful weapons. Not "refined" like the Federation ones, but just raw devastation power.

i have to disagree with you Ewm. The Klingon's are a very intelligent race, 1st off they got the Romulans to give them there cloak technology. It was a Klingon engineer i think who saved all those ship in a battle with the breen, all the federation ships just sat around with thumbs up there ass's and come late dominion war i can only imagine that mostly if not all of there ships were severely upgraded and customized to a point where they could rip the balls off of a brass monkey with there nose.
