If you use a laptop, you might want to look into electric outlet adapters.

Swiss German is a language apart....even if you know Hochdeutsch, schweizer deutsch is alien!

you will need a adapter for your electronic devices;
yes the swiss dialect of german is weird;
don't piss them off my faking their accent or dialog;

hm, nothing to special about Switzerland
yep the dialect is a strange abomination of German, even toping "Schwäbisch" if you ever heard of it  but as in most European countries you should have no problem coming along with English

Oh.. and remember to drive on the right side (literally)

Schwäbisch is für mi koi problem!

Yeah, /agrees to everything that has been said.

But, to be true, if you know Hoch Deutsch, you can probably survive. Ich habe Hunger! Ich brauch' ein Bett!
Ich brauch' Wasser! Ect, haha. Also, a great deal of people speak English at least a bit.

I'm actually going to Germany, Switzerland and Italy this march (leaving on the 25th) hopefully Optec is checking out girls at the Airport and I can bump into him and talk about Flops, lol!

I've been absent from the forums lately also, haha, painting the house. =[

Actually, since you applied to be in France, I assume you know french, try speaking to the Swiss Germans in French.
They'll love you for it. If you thought imitating their dialect would be a faux pas  LOL
