right i'm currently working on a mod for PR3 this mod will include the FO2 borg and noxter just so we have sumthin to play with from these two races while we wait for the final release of FO3 but i have came accross some small problems mainly that some of the models wont load and cause the game to crash does any1 know how to sort this out

I belive the fleetops team tags there models with sprites to stop people stealing them, open up the .spr files from FO2 release and look for any that are missing from FO3, you can also check the SOD's themselves using the Storm3D Tool (NOT the Storm3D viewer) and look for missing sprites, also check armada 2's log file, It's been a while since I modded A2 but I believe it has one in a folder called Logs, open it in Notepad and look for a big error.


Hope one of those helps, sorry it's not more clearly formated I don't have a lot of time, I would check the log file first then the Storm3D viewer then the FO2 sprite file, you will probbly figure out whats causing the crash from the log file.

we add the sprites cause of visual effects not to protect the models from stealing Smiley
Yep, most noxter models for example include blooded sprites for damage visualization, you will have to copy them from the sprite definitions to pr3, besides that the model format should be compatible.

well atm i havent started on the noxter yet i'm having problems with the borg starbase it keeps crashing (although i have only tried the assembler, starbase and detetor I havent tried the other models yet)

My Mistake  Azn . Anyway @Blade if you check the log file it should say which sprites are missing, if thats the problem like I assume

It should be in the armada 2 directory look for a Logs folder and in there should be a file logfile.txt open it up and it gives you bits of information about the game last time it was run

...I think, thats where it is in Armada 1 anyway i don't have A2 installed at the mo
