I noticed that one of the 'features' is the fact that this new patch might allow multiplayer to work in Linux with wine.

I use wine for my gaming and also am the maintaner for Armada 2 on the winehq AppDB, I tried testing your new patch with my game and I got a crash on game launch, bug report is attached.

I'd really like to be able to get multiplayer working under wine for this game, so  thanks for any replies.

wine is the software that allows windows applications to run on linux.

So I assume you tried it w/out the patch first?
It was my understanding that something was incorporated specific to Vista, just wondering if that might have something to do with it.

ok, just an update for the other users: patch project 1.2.5 will work with wine (with some configuration). however it won't address the wine specific problems like hosting games or fullscreen support. i'd like to do that at a later point of time.

Just wanted to note that on ethe winehq appdb we now have a specific version set up for the patch project so if anyone uses 1.2.* on linux, please submit test results or any applicable info there.
