OOC: Hmm...not exactly sure what to say.  I feel like I'm just sort of waiting for the other ships to take action.

Yeah, more people should join so we don't have to use such a short post rotation!

I would... but I have no time to write such long posts. Possibly in the summer... possibly

OOC:) the U.S.S Griffin appears to be your average Excelsior II at first glance, her warpcore has been modified to use fuel more efficiently, & provide noticeably more power. the phaser banks have been rewired for far more rapid slightly more powerful strikes, and the captain’s yacht has a burst firing micro-quantum torpedo turret mounted on the bottom, making it available for use when docked with the command ship, adding to the vessel’s lower forward firing arc. the deflector dish has been reworked to allow for two capital ship grade puslephasers mounted on either side of the dish as well.
& the impulse drive has been replace with a more powerful thrust system, making the ship slightly faster, but offering superior maneuverability. if a picture is required just look at my avatar (Is that to many modifications BTW?)

IC:) Sitting on the captain's chair is a human male about 40 years of age, he has shoulder length reddish-brown hair, blue eyes, & a tightly trimmed moustache & goatee. His name happens to be Captain B.J. Hawkins. He seems to be Irish, but was born on a station in the vicinity of Io, in earths solar system. He’s appears to be sipping tea slowly in his left hand, with his right leg crossing his left thigh. He appears to be reading an old 20th century sci-fi novel called the foundation trilogy. At second glance he is also wearing what looks like headphones, which is now noticeable with his slightly bobbing head. The bridge itself is unremarkable, a low rumble of conversations carries through the seeming small space as officers occasionally pass from one duty-station to another. All of a sudden the science station emits a rapid series of beeps. This happens to grab the captain’s attention, as he puts his book face up on the chair’s arm & pull the headphones down & around his neck as he leaves his seat. As he is casually strolling to the science officer’s stations he says:

Cpt. Hawkins:> “We’ve picked up a contact? & more than one it seems. What have we got?”

The science officer is Lt. Rayiss, your average Andorian male with the usual white crewcut & antennae, who is usually annoyed with the captain’s unusual playful demeanor (unusual for a captain), however this annoyance is usually lessened when the captains perceptiveness is revealed in displays like you’ve just seen.

Lt. Rayiss:> “we have three contacts at maximum scanner range bearing approximately 121o by 12. we’re to far out to get anything better than that, sir.” Rayiss leans over to the station next to his & whispers “How did he know we picked up more than one target?”

At this point the first officer Lt. Commander Asazi strolled up behind Lt. Rayiss as well. Joanna Asazi is a tall asian woman, with short black hair tied in a small ponytail & is slowly turning grey before it’s time, more than likely a result of this ships seemingly unpredictable captain. She is your standard career starfleet officer, & quite beautiful despite her slightly weathered appearance & attitude. She whispers back:

Lt.com. Asazi:> “you might not know this, but the captain served onboard the Lakota as the ships science officer for 4 and a ½ years. No doubt, he knows the sensor systems better than you know the back of your hand lieutenant.” she turns to the captain “Captain, should we move to intercept the new contacts?”

Captain Hawkins:> “I can’t think of any reason why not. Helm plot a course to bring us behind the 2 closer contacts, & keep your current speed.” “And don’t hail them just yet, I would like to know who they are first.”

The helmsman lieutenant Cash is your average blond haired, blue eyed Farmboy from Iowa, with degrees in astrophysics, History, & 2 in chemistry. he nods in response to the captains course change. As does the current Communications Officer Lt. Junior grade Sonya Wolfe. a green-eyed blond from california.

(OOC: to much detail?)
