ICC:  Logmar, after an exceedingly long pause, decided he was willing to take a chance.  "Reopen a channel."  He straightened his shirt.  "I am willing to make a compromise.  I will give you all of the supplies you require, including the torpedoes, if you also accompany us in finding this dangerous vessel."  A few seconds passed before the Stardust's sensors detected another incoming vessel of federation origin.

"Including the torpedoes? Why that is wonderful. I believe my communicationsofficer sent you the coordinates to beamt he supplies. And ofcourse we will accompany you."

Saran spoke up from the taticalstation.

"Sir, there is another ship approccing. Federation."
"Great. What is this? A meeting place for these people. Hail the Stardust."

Capitan Logmar appreared on the screen.

"There is a ship approaching. Friends of yours?"

OOC:) As the Griffin approaches there appears to be battle damage across the ships hull, however the damage has already been repaired, & all it's missing is a fresh coat of paint. (this is the third time i tried to post this, it just seemed to get cut up & scrambled about every time)

Lt. Rayiss:> “Ah, Captain! I have their classification”

Hawkins quickly snaps around to stair at his science officer.

Cpt. Hawkins:>  “Well? Out with it, Lieutenant!”

Lt. Rayiss:> “I’ve got one Federation Excelsior Class Cruiser... uh, ID signature tags it as the Stardust... one Akira Class Heavy Cruiser... the Adelaide, & an unidentified Sona Battlecruiser, & sir that battlecruiser has a strange configuration.”

The captain starts slowly stroking his goatee.
Cpt. Hawkins:> “hmm... something’s not right here.” he turns to the tactical station and points to a young LtJg. “ Lieutenant, You’re relieved. Report to medbay & check on commander Brayyr, tell the doctor to get him up here as soon as he’s fit.” the lieutenant heads into the turbolift & nearly trips through the doors. Hawkins turns his attention to Lt. Commander Asazi “Would you be so kind as to man the tactical station, commander?” she nods and quicky heads to the tactical station.

The captain strolls over to the chair in the center of the bridge & stands in front of the viewscreen.
“Lieutenant Wolfe, Hail the lead federation starship”

Lt. Wolfe:> “eye, Sir. Hailing the USS Stardust. Sir, I have them.”

Cpt. Hawkins:> ”On screen”

OOC:) BTW, where is this area of space located? somewhat near the cardy-fed boarder?

OOC:  Yes (I think).

IC:  "Sir, we are being hailed by the Griffin."

Logmar considered the unfolding situation.  It seemed like more than luck that three ships of-the-line and a mercenary vessel should all passing through the same area in such a small amount of time.  This would bring more capability for the road ahead, but the captain also realized that this congregation so close to the Cardassian border could attract unwanted attention.

"On screen; let's see what tidings our new arrival brings!"

OOC:) we have three fed ships but only two are doing anything ATM.

----edit
also OOC:) if your not responding to anything yet does that mean it's my turn? i gues i'll just post.

IC:) the USS Griffin comes to a casual stop behind the two federation vessels. On the ships bridge the view-screen’s vision of the 3 ships flutters for a second as the image of Captain Logmar suddenly replaces the previous image. Hawkins slowly looks over the image for a second or two, absorbing the situation. He then cracks a small smile and strokes his goatee again, using his calm casual voice he finally speaks.

Captain Hawkins:> “Good morning, Captain Logmar. I’m B.J. Hawkins, commanding officer of the USS Griffin. Um, Captain... not that it’s any of my business, but what exactly is going on here? As far as I know only one federation starship is suppose to be in this sector, and I find two and what looks like a merc sona battlecruiser. Now, before you ask... I’ll explain what I’m doing here, ‘casue undoubtably you are wondering the same thing as I. Just bear with me captain. We were delivering personal to DS9 on our way to Bajor, where our tactical officer Lt. Commander Brayyr Laz (a Bajorian starfleet officer) was suppose to be taking his shore-leave. Approximately 22 hours ago a federation relief convoy en-route to bajor was ambushed by 3 military grade warships of cardassian origin. By the time we intercepted them the two federation escorts were destroyed, as well as one transport ship, & five transports were crippled. Half the medical supplies were taken, and the hostile vessels we encountered were two Galor Class destroyers, and a Keldon Class Heavy Cruiser. These ships were equipped with federation phasers, photon torpedoes, romulan disrupters, and a few cardassian weapons were also thrown in for good measure. We managed to outmaneuver the destroyers and shoved fire & brimstone down that keldons throat. We also damaged one of the Galors as well. Then the cardassains turned tail and ran. However, we were unable to pursue them. The convoy had no protection and several ships were disabled, our first priority was to see to the wounded, and repair the ships, by the time reinforcements arrived the trail was 7 hours cold. We believe the Galor class raiders came through here not to long ago.”

Captain Hawkins looks over Logmar once more, something seems familiar about him...

Hawkins:> “Say, captain. Did you take my ACTT course at starfleet academy perhaps?”

The ACTT (Advanced Combat Training & Tactical course) isn’t a standard requirement for starfleet officers, in fact only seasoned senior officers are considered for the program. But few federation officers chose it, the curriculum was considered challenging to an absurd extreme, however, failing the course had no damaging impact on ones career, and successful completion usually resulted in immediate command of a top of the line vessel.

OOC:) typically, i'd rather commit ritual suicide over double posting, however, i believe that this thread was being overlooked because i edited my last post, & didn't actually post a new one, in a fairly stupid attempt to avoid double posting. So go ahead and torpedo me now.

OoC: Actually, that is exactly what happened. But don't worry, u won't have to suffer any consequences...

IC:

"Sir, I identifed the new vessel. It is of federation origin, but upon an Excelsior II casis, but with numerous enhancements. Her name, according to the markings on her hull is U.S.S. Griffin."

"Thanks, Saran."

Jakob nodded to his tactical officer. He then turned to Tau're, his communicationsoffizer.

"Hail them."

Tau're nodded to show he had understood.

"This is the Ghost, calling the U.S.S. Griffin. My name is Jakob Kontje. We are here giving information and our support to the valient mission of these two Starfleet vessels here. Have you come to join there cause?"

OOC:  SOOO sorry for not posting!  Sad
I've been settling in at Cardiff University

IC:  "I hope you haven't forgotten our fight with that betazed, captain!"  Logmar remarked jovially.  He remebered Hawkins: bright, charismatic, perhaps a little stuborn in demeanor.

"Both the Adelaide and The Stardust are also here investigating hostile action by the cardassians.  It seems this "Ghost" is willing to both trade information and accompany us for a time, in exchange for some supplies."

IC:) Hawkins lets out a small chuckle. "I do remember that captain. if i recall correctly, you said something along the lines of: if they can read my mind i'm going to intentionally think things that don't make sense, just to through them off... instead of unintentionally." he lets out another chuckle.

The comstation starts beeping & gains the captains attention once again.
LtJg. Wolfe:> “Captain we are being hailed by the sona battlecruiser Ghost. I have a captain Jakob Kontje on the line.”

Hawkins:> ”I was wondering when they’d get around to saying hello, lieutenant synchronize the two transmissions and merge them, if you will.”

Wolfe:> “eye, eye sir.” the screen goes blank for a microsecond and a new side-by-side image of captain Logmar & captain Kontje replaces it.

Hawkins:> “How do you do Captain Kontje. I’m captain Hawkins of the USS Griffin. I assume you two captains know eachother? Would you mind filling me in?”

IC:

"No problem. We have just got through the finacial business and now we were getting to know each other. I believe Kapitan Logmar will send you the information that we have sent him, so we won't bother. Other than that, nothing much has happened. If you have any questions though, please ask! I hope we will not learn to regret our meeting."

Jakob watched the screen with a faint hint of a smile on his face.
