Hey, I was wondering if any1 knew any good software to encrypt files with? My brother was playing around with some of my files... wanted to encrypt his section of the hard drive, lol. So, any1 know anything?

ya you can use winrar (its a zip program) and when you zip it just use password protection.

I think he looks for some of encryption app that doesn't compress his files;

Do you and your bro share the same PC?
if yes, do you and your bro use the same account?
if yes:: create a seperate account for yer bro; then log in with your account and revoce all read/write access of the files in question for your bro's account (properties on a file and look @ the security tab)

other than that, I can't think of an app that encrypts file *AND* is free - sry

true crypt may be the right software for you. you still should read a guide on how to use it though before using it Wink and its free Smiley
