Hey folks!

Great news about our beloved total conversion Armada II Fleet Operations! Since 2003/2004 there hasn't been any article in a printed magazine. That has changed now.
Once again the mod found its way into one of Germany's biggest printed gaming magazines
"PC Action". The small but encouraging article features a breath overview of the game's content and marks it with a "very good".
It is good to see that Armada still has the priority to be mentioned in a magazine of that size.
Therefore we want to thank PC Action in the name of the fans and the creators of this outstanding modification!
Also thanks to antagonist who gave us that piece of information!

Itīs a small one, but better than nothing Smiley

I think the guys from PC Action will do more articles about when V3 is released somewhere in the future Smiley

While the article may be small(ish), it's better than nothing.

I'm really hoping they'll print a bigger article when V3 is released. Considering there's been posted a lot of new stuff lately, I'd imagine a V3 review printed in the PC Action 01/2008 ^^

Hey, for a simple mod of a dying game, any press is good press!

What exactly is your definition of simple?

Hey it's Thrawn! Wow, I haven't seen a post by you in years! ...but yeah, I think that Fleet Ops is incredible and keeps vanilla running. I don't think it is simple by any means, but I am not a developer so...

Well, any game mod is simple - at least compared to the production and release of a totally new game, and overall it is much harder for a mod to gain any press coverage at all.  Obviously there are exceptions (Half Life's Gary's Mod, for example, the "Hot Coffee" mod for GTA3), but those are either inordinately popular or subject to controversy.  Fleet Ops is neither, and Armada 2 is a relatively obscure game nowadays to boot.

In summation, for a mod like this, any press coverage is a wonderful thing.

Fleetops is in a class of its own amongst Star trek games, and it's nice to see that people are taking notice.

Hope to see the new V3 release soon.

Good for FO, the team really deserves it. I was hoping to do something similar here in Slovenia, too bad all of the publications here are arses Cheesy
In the future though, I have no doubts that other magazines will HAVE to acknowledge FO for their work Wink

The gaming world is falling apart, its being taken too seriously, I mean its just a game, nothing to be going nutso about. Someone needs to take action on this. We need to stop this. Its making online gaming very dangerous and not fun.
